Your P.O.V.

Harry and I are sneaking into the library under his new cloak.

He's got his hand sticking out with a lantern in it.

"Having your hand stick out kind of defeats the purpose, you know," I whisper as we walk over to the restricted section.

"Shh!"

Harry removes the cloak and hands it to me, leaving the lamp on the floor.

"Fire Eaters... 15th Century Fiends..." he mumbles, going through titles. "Flamel... Nicholas Flamel... where are you?"

Harry grabs a random book in desperation and I try to stop him when I see the title.

"Harry, no! Don't open—"

Too late. The book screams a blood curdling scream and I cover my ears as Harry frantically shuts it and shoves it back on the shelf.

We hear the voice of Filch say, "Who's there?"

"Cloak," I whisper. "Now."

We rush to cover ourselves with the cloak and knock the lantern over in the process. It crashes to the floor and goes dark.

"I know you're in there. You can't hide."

We sneak past Filch under the cloak and he doesn't notice a thing.

Hell yeah we can hide, I think.

"Who is it? Show yourself!"

Harry and I run out of the library and I nearly trip on that stupid cat.

"Meow."

We dash away from Mrs. Norris and around a corner, only to see Snape pushing Quirrell against the wall.

Harry gives me a look under the cloak as we skirt around them and it's all I can do not to shout, "Harry James Potter clean your dirty mind!"

"Severus... I-I thought..." Quirrell stutters.

"You don't want me as your enemy, Quirrell," Snape threatens, his tone as icy and even as ever.

"W-What do you m-mean?"

"You know perfectly well what I mean."

Snape looks like he's about to say something else, then he turns his head sharply in our direction. Harry clamps his hand over my mouth and I do the same to him. Neither of us breathe.

Snape reaches out to grab something, presumably us, and I freeze, his hand inches from my nose.

When he doesn't find anything, Snape whips his head back around to Quirrell.

"We'll have another chat soon... when you've had time to decide where your loyalties lie."

Harry and I back into a nearby doorway as Filch comes around the corner.

"Professors, I found this. In the restricted section," Filch informs them. "It's still hot. That means there's a student out of bed."

As the adults dart off, I close the door to the room we're going to hide in.

I pull the cloak off and leave it on the floor as we go to inspect the giant mirror in the middle of this otherwise empty room.

"Look, Harry on the top," I say, pointing at the inscription.

Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi

"What does that mean?" Harry asks. "It looks like gibberish."
