On your walk back home you noticed Joe's car following behind you. You couldn't tell if it was for your safety or other intentions. Either way you pretended to not notice and picked up your pace anxiously.

You walked inside your apartment and up to your room. Setting your things down on the wooden table beside your door, you kicked off your shoes. You noticed a moving figure in front of you, although it was too dark to make out what it was.

You fearfully flicked on the light with a shoe in hand, prepared to attack. You nearly screamed when you saw your brother standing just a few inches away from you.

"(Y/N) where were you?" His voice trembled, "Beau..." You tried to find the words to explain but you couldn't without exposing yourself.

"You promised you wouldn't mess it up for us this time." "I won't." You replied catching your breath. "Then who was the man I saw standing behind you when you walked inside?" He asked, you were puzzled by his statement.

"There was a man... behind me?" I asked. "You mean you weren't with him? Shouldn't you know not to walk alone at night?" His frustration grew. "Beau, stop it. I can take care of myself." "Whatever, clearly not." He snapped trudging away before slamming his bedroom door shut.

You grunted and trudged your way into your room. Tossing yourself onto your bed it didn't take long for you to fall into a deep sleep.

The next morning you woke up and got ready to assign your brother to his new school. You glanced down at the receipt you received from the bookstore that you had so badly wanted to visit today. Although, you knew you had far too many plans to have any time to see Joe again.

After slipping on a casual outfit you met your brother outside, coincidentally you noticed Joe standing beside his car at the opposite end of your street wearing a hat and a flannel. You caught a smile creeping onto your face as you called out to him.

"Joe?" He seemed uneasy knowing he caught your attention but before you could approach him your brother latched onto your wrist to stop you.

Turning your head you noticed the look of distraught that framed your brothers face. "Beau what's wrong?" You questioned. "You like him." "That's insane, I met him yesterday." You folded your arms, laughing off his silly accusations.

"I won't help you bury another body." Beau sneered letting go of your wrist and walking away. You stared at his figure moving further and further, stunned by his words.

The two of you made it to his school on time by a miracle and got him set up for his classes along with a bus route. He left to class shortly after and you began to head home until you noticed Joe again. It was not only a painfully obvious disguise once again, but way too many occurrences for it to be a coincidence at this point.

"What brings you to a highschool?" You coughed out, alerting his attention from the ground to you. "I'm participating in a fundraiser." He quickly blurted. "I didn't hear anything about a fundraiser while I was inside." You replied to him in haste.

"Ah, Mr. Goldberg please follow me inside!" A voice came from behind you. Turning around, you recognized the principle, Alicia, walking towards the two of you. "(Y/N) I see you've met Joe." She clasped her hands together joyfully while walking between the two of you.

"Well... yes." You anxiously ran your hand through your hair and  mentally scolded yourself after realizing, it really was just a lot of coincidences.

"I'll let you two discuss it then!" You said quickly in attempts to remove yourself from the scene. "Actually, why don't you join (Y/N)?" Joe spoke out.

I paused in my tracks, slowly turning back to them. "That sounds like a great idea Joe! It could give (Y/N) an opportunity to meet other parents." Alicia agreed cheerfully. "Well, I'm not really a parent." You laughed awkwardly, folding your arms while rocking back and forth.

"That's alright, just let me know if you change your mind!" Alicia waved you off, you let out the sigh you had been holding in and rushed away as quickly as you could before they had the chance to call you back over.
