I can't believe I let Ryder talk me into going to his cousins wedding. Yes, I know I grew up with him and he's like my third brother, I just hate weddings.

Emily, my best friends cousin, is the sweetest person ever, so it was hard for me to say no.

But the fact that we're all flying out to New Orleans tomorrow for this wedding is making me realize it's actually happening.

I finished packing my bags an hour ago and I've been procrastinating on going over to Ryder's.

Ryder has been my best friend for as long as I can remember.

We lived right next to each other our whole lives so my brothers and I grew up with each other.

I can't tell you how many times Ryder fought my exes because they hurt me.

As I laid in my bed and scrolled through tik tok, my phone started ringing. I mentally groan seeing it was Ryder facetiming.

I answer it to see it was propped on his desk. "Finally, you answered." I flip him off as he starts laughing at me.

"When are you going over for our sleepover?" He asked like a little girl.

"I don't even know why I have to come over tonight. I can walk over tomorrow morning." He looked at me like I was stupid.

"Cause I know your lazy ass won't get up." Once again, I flip him off.

Mainly for being right. "Get your ass over here so we can hang out." He begged.

I groan as he smiled a little bit. "Give me ten minutes and I'll be over." We shared our goodbyes as I hang up.

I take a deep breath and grab my bags. I've already quadruple checked them just to be sure.

I put on my Nike slides and head out towards the door. I still live with my parents which I don't see that as a bad thing.

I have a pretty good relationship with my family, which I'm pretty thankful for.

During the summer I work at the local water park and help with some of the bills.

My parents can afford it, I just offer to help and they let me.

During the rest of the year, I work in my school's library. I go to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for Psychology.

When I go down the steps, I see my younger brother, Chase, eating a bowl of cereal.

My dad was sitting on the couch watching ESPN. I guess my mom might still be at work.

I walk past my brother and shove his head towards the table.

He quickly punched my stomach which made me yelp in pain.

He had a smug look on his face as my dad sighed. "Chase, how many times have we told you to not hit your sister?"

My brother dropped his jaw as I laughed. I hopped on the counter and opened a cereal bar.

"She started it!" My brother defended himself. My brother is seventeen and he'll be a senior in high school.

He's on the starting line for his lacrosse team so I always make sure to go watch.

"I don't care who started it, don't punch your sister." I smiled in victory as Chase turned to me. He flipped me off which made me chuckle.

My mom walked in with her work attire on so I guess she was working late. She works at a law firm so she can work pretty late.

She smiled when she saw me. "I figured you would be at Ryders by now." She sat her purse down and stood by me.
