This morning, Charlie wanted to go hiking. And since there's a couple hiking areas around here, I decided to go with him.

And that lead Owen and Chase to coming with us. The hikes here were pretty easy and short so we've already did a couple of them.

Chase and Owen were still looking at the view as Charlie and I started walking back.

"I haven't gotten the chance to thank you." Charlie spoke up. I look at him weird.

It was really hot so we were all sweating. Charlie had his hair pulled back into a bun.

"Thank me for what?" I ask. He stopped so he could look at me.

I stopped with him. "For sticking up for Owen when Heather was being a bitch about leaving" I smiled lightly at him.

If I'm being honest, I had forgotten she had came. It reminds me how Owen had just gotten out of the relationship.

"I had to. I care about him a lot." I admit to him. Charlie wiped the sweat off of him as he looked around.

"How's he doing with the whole breakup?" I ask. I haven't had the chance to ask Owen himself.

Charlie glanced at his best friend. "Better than what I thought. He said he was done with her, like legit." It made me feel better.

I would love to date Owen one day, but not right now. I looked at him to see he's laughing at something my brother is saying.

"You know how I could tell he was telling the truth?" Charlie asked.

I turn over to see him smirking towards me. I just raise my eyebrow at him, waiting for him to say something else.

"He told me that he didn't like the way she talked to you." That shocked me.

But I can't let it get it to me. He only meant it because he's protective of me because we're close as friends.

Before I could say anything, Chase and Owen were coming back to us.
