Grayson pov

It wasn't until we got back that we realized that I had been shot. That must have been what the weird pain in my side was. Toast sat me down in the kitchen and started to clean me off.

I knew what he had seen the second he made the face.
"What are these bandages?"

We were alone in the kitchen, which I was grateful for. Elizabeth would have chewed me out if she knew I was using bandages again.
"Nothing you need to worry about. Just get the bullet out please."

He made a face.
"It just seems like they might be the reason your breathing has been a bit off and-"

"They are, but it doesn't matter. Just... hurry up."

There was a moment of silence before he nodded and pulled out a set of tweezers.
"Does Miss Elizabeth know?"

I nodded.
"She's the only one who does. She'd kill me if she saw i was using bandages."

Toast furrowed his brow.
"Yes, I suppose there are better ways."

Before I could respond, the pain came back. Toast must have started trying to pull the bullet out while I was distracted. It felt like my side was on fire. Before I could think about it, my instincts took over and I had shoved Toast away. He hit the counter and fell to the ground with a loud thud.

I heard footsteps run in, it must have been Ghost and Elizabeth. Someone was trying to talk to me, but I was crying to hard to hear. Or was I laughing? Someone had me pinned up against the wall. I kicked hard, and connected with something, but they didn't let go.

My whole body was tired, I wasn't breathing right. Slowly, as I stopped fighting, my vision cleared. I saw Ghost and Elizabeth holding me against the wall, and Toast was holding something with the tweezers.

"How did you...?"

Toast was covered in blood, probably mine.
"You could have made that easier you know."

I leaned against the wall, out of breath.
"Sorry, gut reaction."
I looked over to Ghost, who was also a bit bloody now, and was breathing harder than I was.
"You shouldn't be in here right now. Jimmy will-"

Ghost nodded before collapsing.
"Too late."
