Ghost's pov
I grabbed Grayson's hand to pull him all the way in and shut the door, hoping no one saw.
"Welcome back 'Jimmy'."He smiled at my joke before promptly collapsing onto the floor in the back of the van. He looked exhausted. Elizabeth looked back at him.
"You okay?"He nodded, out of breath, but I could see the look in his eye that said he was freaked out.
"Yeah, but does anyone know how to get out of hand cuffs?"I sat down in front of him and grabbed a set of lockpicks from a nearby cabinet.
"Here, let me."
I took his hands in mine and got to work.
"How did you get away?"He watched my hands move with a weird amount of interest.
"It was Maloney. He doesn't even carry a real gun. I just waited until he wasn't paying attention, and then I bit him and ran off. Not that hard."At that moment, the lock clicked open and his hands came free. Immediately, Grayson shoot his hands out, like he was trying to shake off water. He noticed me watching and seemed kinda embarrassed.
"Sorry, that happens sometimes when I...""No, no, its fine. I do it too sometimes. I helps when things get a little too much."
I copied the motion. He smiled and joined in. We both just sat there like that for a minute, until Grayson seemed to get his bearings. He leaned back against one of our spare pieces of equipment.
"Thanks Johnny."
He turned his head towards the front seat.
"I think I found something, out in the park. Looked like a secret entrance of some kind."Elizabeth nodded.
"Great let's head there now."Toast shook his head.
"Bad idea. The police will be looked for Mr Grayson now. We should head back for now."I looked to Grayson for his opinion, but he was already asleep, his jacket folded up as a pillow.
"I think you're right."
