Chapter 20

.

[Millie's P.O.V.]

I grabbed the last bottle of Coke in the fridge and opened it. I took a quick sip, feeling somehow relieved.

Greyson and I took maybe, an hour talking on the phone. We just caught up on each other lives. I decided to not tell him about what Niall has done to me, thinking that he'll get all mad and go all the way here to Australia.

Seriously, if things go to the extreme, he'll really take long shots.

Turns out that he met my neighbor Ally, she's around his age. He got a little crush on her, may I add. I teased him nonstop and just laughed whenever he got all frustrated.

It was around 3pm here, while it was 9pm there. So he had to sleep because of 'school'. He never slept early for school before, so I just let him be and assumed that he might have a little date with Ally.

Just thinking of it made me laugh more. I've never heard him being so in love before, it was nice to hear.

He is growing up so fast. Gosh, I sound like a mother. Moving on.

I am currently inside an elevator now, on my way down to the ground floor. Why you may ask?

Well, I decided to do some grocery. Since our supplies were running low and, I'm just really bored. There was a 'ding', meaning that I'm on the right floor. The doors opened and I stepped out.

I took my wallet out of my back pocket, just making sure I had enough money for the grocery trip. As I was counting, I bumped into something, or someone.

I looked up to see a tall man, he was like a tower, smirking down to me. His size made me want to shrink and hide in a corner.

"I'm sorry." I muttered. He looked familiar though. I tried to pass through his sides, but his arm stopped me.

"What's your name?" The mystery man asks.

I didn't answer easily. No way am I telling a stranger my name, considering how he looks, he could be a leader of some gang of robbers or something.

"I asked you what's your name." He started to get impatient. "Will you answer, or not?" He asks once again. I still didn't answer, I tried to walk away again.

But he pushed me back this time. I lost my balance, and fell on my bum.

"You're just like him." He chuckles.

"Who's him?" I ask, standing up. Finally gaining some confidence.

He tilted his head, still looking at me. Like he was observing me. I shifted from my left foot to right, feeling uncomfortable under his gaze.

"Well, who's him?" Now I'm started to get impatient.

"You didn't answer my question. So, why would I answer yours?"

Hmm, good point.

"Okay, so we didn't answer each others question. Can I just pass? We have our own things to do too, you know." I say matter-of-factly.

"You don't understand, do you?" He speaks once again. He looks behind him and looks back at me.

"Understand what?" I'm starting to get really frustrated.

"You'll see." He smirks, before walking past me and entering an elevator. Before I knew it, he was out of sight.

What the hell?

"Millie, are you ok?" A very flustered and sweaty Niall asks me, suddenly by my side.

"Where did you come from?"

"I just went. . . somewhere. But are you okay?"

"Uhmm, yeah. Why do you ask?"

"I saw you fall."

"Oh yeah, It didn't hurt anyway." I say, still confused. That dude back there was the weirdest person I've ever met. Well, I didn't really meet him. I just bumped into him.

"Okay, well. Where you off to?" Niall asks me, gulping.

"I was just going to go to the super market. Were running out of food." I spoke slowly, observing he's expression.

"I'll come with you then." He said, already ahead of me. I kept up, though he was going pretty fast.

"How do you know where everything is?" I ask. He had no such difficulty finding this place.

"I just do."

--

"Just place it there." I pointed to the counter.

Niall nodded, placing the other paper bags there.

I started taking out some of the canned goods and placed it inside one of the cabinets. After emptying the paper bag, I threw it away and proceeded to another one.

I was already done with the third bag when I realized that I was finished. Niall's helping included.

I took a quick shower and changed into some shorts and shirt.

"What're you watching?" I ask Niall, sitting down beside him in the couch in the living room.

"Tiny House Nation." He replied, eyes glued to the tv. Yet he was managing to eat his noodles without taking his eyes off the screen,

"What is that? I've never heard of it."

"It's a show where let's say. People want to move into another house, but only have a little budget. So they go to this dude, who was a group of construction workers and make them a small house. As in, a really small house. But they still fit in it. . . Well, based from the amount I've watched, I think that's what it's about." He told me.

"Oh, cool. Sounds interesting." I replied and watched the unfamiliar show with him.

--

Time passed and before we knew it, it was already 3 in the morning. So we went back to the bedroom.

I tied my hair up in a ponytail before climbing up the bed and laying down. I snuggled with the blanket for awhile until Niall came back and laid down too. After cleaning the bowl he used for his noodles.

"Oh yeah, by the way. I found us apartments, they're in the same building but seperate. It's not so far away." Niall informed me.

"Really? But I still don't have a job." I told him. How does he expect me to pay with not having a job yet?

"It's ok, I'll pay for the first month. For the both of us."

"Are you sure? You don't have to. I can find a way." I hesitated.

But I was answered with snores beside me.
