10: First Aid

I block another hit from the guard and then kick her before trying to run out to help Letty. The woman in gold clearly had a lot of training and Letty and I could use each others help. As I run out the door the guard grabs my foot and causes me to land on my face. I roll over and hit her before climbing to my feet again but she does the same. We continue to fight and we take multiple hits from each other before we reach the balcony and I can hear the chaos going on. I hear a car engine and can only assume it's Dom and Brian improvising. Before I can react the guard kicks me in the abdomen which sends me over the balcony. I land on the floor and gasp for air and try to breathe through the pain going through my entire body. "Dani, you ok?" asks someone I wasn't expecting to see. I turn my head slightly to see Deck kneeling beside me with a gun in his hand. "I'm ok" I breathe with a nod. He touches my head before standing with his gun and aiming for the car Dom and Brian are in.

As Deck shoots at the car I notice a guard coming towards us but Deck hits him before he gets the chance to touch either of us. While Deck hits the guard I pull myself to my feet and push through the burning pain, probably caused by a broken rib. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before I open them and see the gorgeous red car driving towards me and Deck. "Dani!" I hear Deck yell as he pushed me out the way and rolls over the roof of the car. I land on the ground and feel another rush of pain in my ribs and gasp. I turn to see Deck shooting at the car driving around the room before Dom decides to drive it out the window and Deck aims a grenade at it but misses. I clutch my side, trying to stop the pain.

As I sit up and drag myself to lean against the wall and I see Deck rushing towards me. "Are you ok?" he asks as he cups my face. "I'm fine, I think I've broken a rib though" I answer and move slightly with a wince. "Ok, I got you. Come on" He says as puts a hand behind my back and offers his other for me to grab. I gladly do so and allow him to help me to my feet. He supports me as we walk to the lift and get in. "You look amazing by the way" he says with a grin as he moves to stand in front of me. "And you look very sexy in your suit" I reply with a genuine smile. He cups my cheek and leans in to give me a short but passionate kiss that I gladly return.

He guides me to his car once we're out of the building while I search for Dom or Brian or anyone's car. I thought they'd have waited for me at least since they all rushed out because Deck was trying to kill them but I thought they'd have waited for me. I guess they really don't want me there which is what I was afraid of. When I give up looking for them Deck helps me into the passenger seat of his car and gets into the driver seat. "I'm sorry" he says as he starts the engine. I look at him confused, "For what?" I ask. "You were looking for them and they aren't here. I'm sorry they left" he explains as he looks at me and I can see the sincerity of his apology and I smile at him. "It's ok, I thought they'd wait but they didn't. I'll meet them" I reply as I relax into the seat with a sigh. He nods his head before driving to his empty warehouse.

After we reach his warehouse he helps me out the car and guides me to a table where he lifts me by the waist and sits me on it. He gets a first aid kit out and walks back over to me. "Can I see?" he asks, gesturing to my side that I'm still holding. I unzip the back of my dress and slide my arms out to lower the dress down enough for him to see, leaving me in my bra. He looks at my side and I do the same, we look at the bruise forming in a dark blue and purple colour. He applies pressure in areas, causing me to wince which makes him apologise which then makes me smile. "It looks like it's just a bad bruise" he says as he puts an ice pack covered with a cloth over the bruise. "Are you ok?" I ask as he starts to close the first aid kit. "You got hit by the car because you pushed me out of the way" I add and grab his hand to stop him from putting the kit away. "I'm ok Dani. And there was no way I was gonna let that car hit you" he replies as he stands in front of me with his hands on my legs. I move one arm onto his shoulder while keeping the other against the ice pack on my side. "I love you Deck" I say giving him a worried look. Neither of us know where this is gonna go and what's gonna happen and that is scary. "I love you too" he says and gives me a long kiss.

After I've sat still with the ice pack for a while I put my arms back into the sleeves of my dress and hop down from the table. "Where are you going?" he asks while getting up from the car he's working on. "I need to go" I answer and turn around so he can zip my dress back up. He does so before kissing my shoulder. "Do you need anything?" he asks, knowing he can't convince me to stay. He understands that I need to be there for my family as well but I haven't forgotten what Brian told me. To fight for the people I love. "I could use a car" I answer with a chuckle. He pecks my lips with a smile. "Take whatever you want".
