38: The Wedding

The beautiful beach scene set up for mine and Deck's wedding was gorgeous as the white carpet lead down to an archway covered in black and white roses. The few black chairs are laid out evenly on either sides of the aisle with elegant white bows tied to their backs. Queenie standing under the arch as she waited for the wedding to commence as she would be marrying us. Deck and I thought it fitting and sentimental that she be the one to marry us. The beach is quiet as the only people on the beach are out guests and the warm sun casts a gentle glow over the ceremony.

Our guests gather in their seats scattered among both sides since the guest wasn't equal between us both. Deck's guest only including his siblings Hattie and Owen and their mother, Queenie. While mine include Dom, Letty, Tej, Roman, Ramsey, Brian, Mia and their kids Jack and Olivia. Hobbs and his daughter Sam were also invited but they were invited as both mine and Deck's guests.

Deck walks down the aisle to his mother and stands in his spot on the right of the arch. Everyone settles into their seats as they wait for the bride to walk down the aisle. First, the best man and maid of honour to walk down, Owen being the best man and Letty being the maid of honour. Deck and I made them, along with everyone else promise there'd be no funny business at our wedding or they'd be thrown out and sent home to which everyone agreed to get along. Owen and Letty walk down the aisle in their suit and black dress with Letty's arm hooked in Owen's as they smile at everyone. Once they reach the arch they separate and Owen stands behind Deck and Letty stands on the left of the arch.

I then stand at the end of the aisle with my arm hooked in Brian's. I decided to ask Brian to give me away since he's been there for me every step of the way. He's the one who told me to fight for what I loved and I did. If it wasn't for him and his advice and trust in me, I wouldn't be here getting married. My simple and elegant off-the-shoulder dress showed my beautifully tanned skin and my figure as it hugged my waist and then fell to the floor. We slowly walk down the aisle and I watch Deck with a huge smile and glance at our smiling guests. We reach the arch and Deck puts his hand out for me to take. Brian places my hand in Deck's before kissing my cheek and taking his seat beside Mia and Dom in the front row. Deck holds my hand tightly as I walk to stand in front of him.

Once we're stood in front of each other Deck takes my other hand and we stand, smiling at each other with our hands enlaced with the others. "You look beautiful" he whispers to me. "You look handsome" I whisper back with a smile. Queenie starts the ceremony and asks us to exchange our vows. Deck starts with "We met under crazy circumstances but it led us here. I'm so glad that I decided to help you out of that car, it's the best decision I've ever made. We've been through so much and I've put you through a lot and I'm sorry and I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. I love you Dani and only you" he says and I hold back the tears. I take a deep breath before saying my own vows. "We have been through a lot but you don't have to apologise for any of it. No matter what people here may think. I love how protective you are when we're on missions or in public. I love how you always pay attention to the little things and remember them. I love how you notice the slight changes in my behaviour and know what they mean. But above all, I love how you care, trust and love me. I can't thank you enough for that. I love you Deck" I say as a few tears roll down my cheeks. Deck reaches up and wipes the tears as he smiles at me, his eyes a little glossy as well.

We place the simple wedding bands on each other's fingers and Queenie finally says the words "You may kiss the bride" and Deck grabs me by the waist as he steps forward and crashes his lips to mine. I wrap my arms around his neck as I melt into the kiss. Our few guests clap and cheer as we share our first kiss as husband and wife, a few shedding some tears at the heart-warming ceremony. We pull apart and smile at everyone before everyone gathers and gives us hugs, a few avoiding hugs with Deck but still congratulate him so I was ok with it.

During the reception we had a playlist play through some speakers and didn't have many arrangements. We preferred it if it was just us and family enjoying each others company. Although, Queenie being the traditional woman she is, insisted we have our first dance so she picked the song 'A Thousand Years' to play and Deck dragged me onto the small dance floor. He wraps an arm around my waist and grabs my hand with the other. I rest my spare hand on his bicep as he sways to the song and looks down at me lovingly.

"What are you staring at?" I ask him with a smile. "My beautiful wife" he answers with a huge smile. "Oh, I like the sound of that" I answer with a small laugh and rest my head on his chest. We continue to sway to the music until the song ends and Deck looks at me as I lift my head and we share a loving kiss.

Later in the reception, Dom approaches me and Deck and starts conversation with us. "I've told you before, but I'll say it again. If you hurt her, I will kill you" Dom warns Deck and I smile at him. "I won't" Deck replies simply with a chuckle. "So are you gonna take his name?" Dom asks and Hattie obviously hearing joins in. "Shaw is a great name" she says with a smile and Deck and I both laugh at her. "Danielle Shaw" I experiment with a thoughtful look. "I love it" I say as I look at Deck. "Then it's yours" he says and kisses me sweetly. "Welcome to the family Mrs Shaw" he adds and I smile at him and hug him tightly. I love this man.
