Seeing (HER)

The contrast,
between the way the girl sees herself,
and how the world views her.
On the outside,
she appears black and white,
plain and obvious,
for the things you look for in her are trends,
that claim to define beauty,
not who she really is.

So now she hides behind herself,
and cries.
She's  in pain,
from the words you've carved into her skin.
She looks at herself,
and sees a vivid spectrum of shades,
the things that make her,
her.
The world sees a body,
she sees a person,
a person longing for you to see,
HER.
