Elle groans the vomit burning her throat as she kneels by the toilet. Eric is yelling on the phone in the other room, and it was too early for this shit. Khadijah had refused to bring his son.

Nothing new.

Barely able to stand Elle drags her exhausted body to the sink quickly brushing her teeth before stripping and jumping in the shower. She caresses her belly taking notice of the fact that her bump was becoming a little more prominent. It had been a couple weeks since they decided to break the news to her parents. To say they didn't take of well would be an understatement. Her mother was hysterical especially when she found out they didn't plan on getting married anytime soon.

Her father merely grunted his disapproval before hugging her and asking her did she really want to keep the baby. And of course, that's when Eric decided to get out his body and buck up to her dad lead to a stand of that had her and her mother pulling them apart before blows could be thrown. Just thinking about it brought tears to her eyes. She didn't realize that she was outright sobbing until she felt Eric hugging her from behind begging her to stop crying.

"I can't do this without my parents Eric." He stills at the conviction in her voice.

"We need to be patient, I'm sure they'll come around eventually. This is there first grandchild."

"Out of wedlock. This is not something my family will grin and bare. I'm an embarrassment. There one and only child a baby momma, the second one at that."

"So, let's get married. I already told you my purpose is you and my children."

There was an awkward stretch of silence as the water beat down on them. Eric silently cursing himself for being so forward, but he couldn't hide hoe he felt any longer. He wanted Elle to be his wife, her parents' approval be damned. But he could tell from her terse silence that the sentiment wasn't shared.

Stepping out his arms she sits on the shower bench unable to think with him looking at her expectantly.

"I can't marry you, Eric."

"Why not?" She chuckles at the ridiculous question and the way he genuinely seems surprised.

"I've known you for less than a year, you have a crazy baby momma, and sadly I barely know you to be having a baby for you." Eric knew she was right, but it didn't make the rejection easier to swallow.

"I know I have a long way to go before you can fully trust me again, but I promise I have every intention of making you, my wife." Pulling him down to her level she presses a tender kiss to his lips.

"Just try to work on being a good boyfriend and father first." They finish their shower in silence both feeling as if the left a lot of things unsaid.

Both worrying if that was for the best.

***
Her world was spiraling

Khadijah paced the halls of her apartment feeling like a ghost. The sound of her son's cries grating on her nerves. The bottle of Taylor port shakes in her hand as she pours another glass.

The condo was a mess.

Food, dirty diapers, liquor bottles and dirty clothes covered any available surface. Eric was the only thing on her mind after their heated argument this morning. No matter how much she tried to hate him she couldn't. She wanted her family back; she could forgive him for knocking her subpar replacement up as long as he agreed to forgive her indirection in the past. She decided she would bring this up the next time they met up.

A heavy knock on the door brings her back to reality. Opening the door, she has to cross her legs as her panties immediately dampen at the sight of Eric. He tries to advert his eyes as one of her breasts escapes the confides of her robe. She smirks opening the door wider to let him in. He immediately heads to his son's room noticing right away that he had a full diaper. changing him quickly her rocks him back to sleep before returning him to his crib.

He stops in the doorway tying to brace himself for interacting with his child's mother. He was trying to mindful of her fragile mental state due to postpartum and he felt bad for rough he handled her the last time they spoke in person. Even though she oversteps she was still going to be a part of his life as long as his child was alive.  Walking g back into the living room he looks at the woman who used to own his heart.

Where Elle was curvy, she was statuesque. They both shared a rich skin complexion and were stubborn to the bone, both of them Tauruses. But that is where the similarities end, where Elle was nothing but love and light Khadijah was a dark entity that sucked the life out of you for entertainment. People were nothing more than tools to get what she wanted. And the bad thing was Eric knew what kind of woman she was before he fell in love with her but he convinced himself that he could change her into the woman he wanted her to be.

And he almost made the same mistake with Elle, instead of just loving her for the woman she was he made it his mission to try to mold her in his image.

And it was starting to bite him in the ass.

She pours them drinks, slipping a handful sedatives into one of the sweet teas. She offers him a glass with a smile, and it only widens as he takes a hearty gulp before taking a seat on her couch.

"So how are you and the Mrs.?" Eric can only shake his head at the obvious contempt she has for Elle.

"You act as if she stole me from you. Let's be clear you're the cheater not me."

She watches with a victorious look as his words come out slurred. He blinks quickly, trying to stand only to feel as if his extremities were full of lead. Internally he was panicking, especially since Elle was waiting patiently at home for him.

"What the fuck did you give me?" Eric feels tears threating to fall as she crawls into his lap, un dressing. She moans as she reaches for his limp manhood, rubbing it against her drenched core.   His stomach clenched in disgust as she grinds against him trying to get some kind of reaction. But with the sedative and the fact that the sight of her literally made him sick he remained flaccid in her clammy hand. She screamed at him demanding him to fuck her. He chuckled unable to help the laughter that erupted from deep in his chest.

"I guess didn't quite go according to plan huh?" His eyelids become heavier. The last thing he remembers is her evil chuckle.
