Halloween

Halloween has always been a hard day for Harry. The day Voldemort murdered his parents.

As the years went by and Harry would learn more and more about his scar and his parents' involvement and their sacrifice, it would be worse for him every year. 

This year Halloween was on a Saturday so there wasn't anything to distract him. 

You knew that Harry would want to be alone, but after he didn't come down for breakfast or lunch that day you got really worried, so you decided to bring up some food for him after dinner.

You reach his dorm door and knock gently, "who is it?", you heard him say slightly muffled, "it's me, Harry, can I come in?", you ask, after a moment of silence, "yeah come in", he said. You open the door to see Harry sitting at his desk with his hands over his eyes.

"Hey, I brought you some food", you said walking over and placing down the plate onto the desk, "thanks Y/n but I'm not hungry", he said, you sit next to him. 

You place your hand gently on his hands on his head and slowly move his hand away, he looks at you, his eyes extremely puffy and red, he must have been crying for hours, you pull him into a hug, he cried quietly into my shoulder as I rubbed his back, and his head. 

"It's m- my fault", he said lifting his head up off your shoulder, "what's your fault?", you asked with a frown, "that they died, they died for me", he said that is all he could muster out as were tears streaming down his cheeks, "Harry that is not your fault, do not blame yourself for this, you were just a baby", you said slightly firm so he would hear every word you said. 

You could tell it didn't entirely make him feel less guilty or sad but a lot better. You smiled and wiped away his tears with your thumb, "do you want to go visit them?" you asked, Harry's eyes went wide, "what?", he said, "do you want to go visit their grave?, I asked Professor McGonagall, and she gave permission", you said, Harry thought for a moment and then smiled and for the first time all day he looked slightly happy, "yeah", he nodded, "okay well let's go".

You both arrive at Godric's Hollow and were standing at the gate of the graveyard, "are sure you want to do this?", you ask as Harry's face goes slightly pale, he nods and you both start walking and looking around trying to find Lily and James's gravestone. 

We finally found it and stood in front of it and you knelt down and with your wand you made a flower wreath, then stood back up and looked at Harry who smiled weakly at you and stared back at the gravestone. 

It was a weird feeling for Harry it was his first time at the grave and he never thought it would feel this empty, to just stand and stare at the gravestone of his parents and know that he can never do anything to have them back and this would be the only way he would get to see them. 

A single tear rolled down Harry's cheek then he turned to you, "can we go now", he said, "are you sure we can stay as long as you want", you say, he shook his head "no I want to back now", he said, you nod and he turns to go, "you go on I'll catch up", you say, Harry nods and without another word, he starts walking away. 

Once he was out of earshot you turn back, "I'll look after him, I love him, and I always will until the day I die", you say and it could just be a coincidence but the cloudy sky drew apart letting a strong sun to shine through for a minute before another cloud came and covered it up, you smiled and turned on your heel and ran after Harry. 

You reach him and wrap one arm around his waist and you both walked. 

As sad as Harry was that day, he was so glad to have you, the person that made him get out of bed every day, the person that made him want to live and not give up, he knew you would never know how grateful he was to have you in his life, but he always tried but it was impossible to show the full extent of his love, it was too much, he truly loved you with every inch of his existence, and he knew you felt the same, which you did.
