Sneaking past Zachbots to the forbidden room was not an easy feat, but if anyone could do it, it was Lacey Elizabeth Kratt.

The forbidden room, as Zach liked to call it, was the room with the entry to the sewers. Lacey wasn't allowed in it, for "obvious reasons", but she had to see her brothers. It had been three days since she had woken up and five since they had been kidnapped.

She took a quick look over her shoulder, scanned the basement one more time, and opened the hatch. She climbed down the ladder, letting the hatch close itself, and ran down the walkway.

As she ran, she started calling out her brothers' names. And sooner than later, she heard Martin call out her name back.

After following his voice and finding his cell, she gripped her hands on the bars, Martin doing the same.

And he looked like he was doing horrible. He was still wearing the clothes from five days before and his bones were starting to show. She'd have to make sure Zach was feeding them more. And his hair, which he always liked to keep nicely styled, was all over the place.

"Are you okay?" she asked, wiping some dirt off his cheek.

"I'm okay. But are you? And how are you out of your cell? And why do you look clean? And those aren't your clothes. Whose clothes are those?"

Lacey looked down at her feet. If she couldn't tell her mom, how could she tell her brother?

"I uhm, sort of became Zach's assistant."

Martin gave her a look of disappointment and fear, and Lacey quickly explained.

"No, no, not in that way I swear. It's a part of my plan to get us all out of here. And besides, I would never willingly do anything with Zach. C'mon Martin, you know me better than that."

"What's your plan, then? And why does it involve Zach?"

"It's complicated."

"Nothing's too complicated for the Kratts."

But Martin didn't say that. Martin turned around and Lacey craned her neck to see past her brother. And there, in the way back, sat her other brother, Chris.

He looked almost as bad as Martin, but he still had some buff to his build. But his hair had unstraightened and become its curly mop again.

Lacey sighed. She knew Chris was right, but it felt like too much of a burden to put on them.

Chris got up and walked over, standing next to Martin.

"Well," she started, knowing she wouldn't be able to not tell them. "I figured that I could gain the villains' trust. Make them believe I'm on their side. Get in on their dirty secrets. And when they're at their most vulnerable, I'll take them down. I'm not sure how yet since it's only been two days, but I'll think of something. I always do."

"That's right you do. It's a Kratt thing," Martin said, winking.

Lacey lightly laughed and looked over at Chris. Her smile dropped at the sight of his almost worried look.

"Chris, I'll be fine," she said, reassuring him.

"Will you be, though? We moved you out of New Jersey to make sure Zach didn't catch you and now look where we are. Nine months of running and hiding for nothing."

"Don't be so pessimistic. I'll get us out of this. Did you not just hear my plan?"

"I did, I'm just concerned for you, Lace. I don't want any of them to hurt you!"
