Chapter 15

Trapped Again

Alonia's POV

I can't tell how long I was under or where they had taken me. The drug they had used on me dulled the pain but had shut down everything except my mind. I couldn't hear, move, feel, or smell while the drug continued to control my body.

There was no telling where I was being taken or with who. My mind was full of dreams, nightmares more like it as it created pictures of the worst scenarios with these men. The words "Sorry love," replayed over and over with a different voice every time.

I felt so helpless that it angered me. I could do nothing to help myself escape or to fight these people. That kidnapping nonsense was really getting old.

Never again did I hear any voices or feel anything until what felt like days later. The first thing I felt was a freezing gooey substance that raced through my body and causing my senses to wake. The freezing liquid raced through my system sending jolts of cold to wake my drug induced sleeping body.

Little by little my senses, along with my body, began to awaken. I smelt dry air filled with dust, which caused me to sneeze. Even without my water wielding powers I could tell I was somewhere void of any moisture at all. Someone knew what he or she was doing to contain me.

I tried to open my eyes, but when I did the horrid pain in my head returned and caused tears to blur my vision. Instead of opening my eyes again I slowly sat up on the flat, smooth surface I had been laid upon and tried meditating to try and stop the pain.

"Zhe's awake," one of the male voices said, sounding slightly muffled like he was talking from behind a glass door.

"Zhould we go getz him?" the second one asked.

"Not quite yet, I need to talk to her first," the familiar voice said. I still couldn't figure out who it was.

Next I heard the sound of a door opening and two pairs of footsteps rang throughout the room. I could feel the warm presence of another person in my room so I slowly opened my eyes and choked back the tears.

Still my vision was blurry so all I could see was a dark outline of the man in front of me. I tried blinking and squinting to focus but all I could make out was- curly brown hair.

"Burke?" I managed to say, utterly stunned. Then I realized all that time, that voice was his. He had kidnapped me.

"Burke!" I said angrily as I popped off of the cot and then the whole room suddenly started spinning. My anger couldn't mask the pain that set my body aflame in pain. I felt my knees give way but right before I fell Burke caught me and sat me back down.

"Alonia, please," he began softly, trying to calm me down.

"Please what! Burke what is going on!" I asked with anger seeping throughout my voice.

"Alonia, please calm down and listen to me."

"Tell me now Burke."

My vision was still extremely fuzzy but I could see his stance change and I saw him sigh before he began to speak. "Alonia this was the only other option. He wanted to do worse, so much worse to you. Once I heard what, I begged and pleaded him to let me bring you here instead."

I took a deep breath and my vision began to clear, allowing me to see Burke's worried features in the small cell like square room I was being held.

"Burke who is it? You almost seem afraid of whoever this 'him' is."

Before he answered he glanced around my small room to make sure we were still alone. "Alonia, he is that powerful. With one word he could end thousands of lives including yours and that's what I'm trying to prevent. He heard you were with Reid and he wanted you gone. You were in the way of his daughter, and-"
