The doctor fumbled with the various chemicals on his table. "What do you plan to do with those" the young girl asked. The doctor took a deep breath as if he were remembering a bad memory. "My wife was taken from me. An organization called Shield took her from me. They came in and slaughtered her. Butchered her like a piece of meat. A careless carcass that didn't even matter". The doctor's fists were balled at this point and his teeth were clenched. "And I was helpless. I couldn't protect her. I couldn't save her. Then they came for my daughter. Snatched her from right under me. And I was still helpless. But I refuse to be helpless anymore". A look of newfound confidence washed over his face. "I am a doctor. And I will make myself capable of protecting the one person I have left. I will find my daughter and keep her safe". The girl looked at the doctor. "And how are you going to do that" she asked. The doctor smiled. "With these" I smiled gesturing to the various chemicals on his table.

Chan was more than cooperative. He did exactly as we asked, and went through all our tests willingly.I was once against suprised at how effective i was.

I looked at one of our monitors and smiled. All of our tests and research were displayed on the screen now it was time to decode them. I took a seat on one of the swivel chairs and began to work. Several scientists in lab coats walked around but I tuned them out. I opened several files containing Chan's blood and began to analyze the effect of our Centipede serum in his blood. Most of the subjects that had been given our serum tended to overheat and explode. However, Chan remained normal. That's when it dawned on me. How was it possible that Chan could create fire without burning himself alive? I took one look at his blood and the answer became clear. Not only did his accident give him powers it also made his blood platlets resistant to the fire he created, hence why he was not burned by our serum. I got up and headed over to Debbie, who was instructing another group of scientists. I smiled at how important she made herself, much she tried to feel needed it was sad really. " You have new orders Debbie. We've uncovered the secret to Chan's resistance to our serum. Its in his blood. We need to extract his blood and replicate it in order to use it and stabilize our serum". Debbie stood dumbfounded and I slightly relished in her awe of how fast I had discovered what had taken several days for her to obtain. Nonetheless, she got straight to work, ordering several scientists to drain Chan of his blood.

Several minutes afterwards, Chan was strapped to a metal table as we began the blood draining process. We watched as Chan began to get fidgety but we didn't worry too much about it. Once the procedure was complete, we began to fill the blood into veils and put them in metal cases for transport. Our task was complete, but Chan was anything but stable. He began to scream and even though he was strapped to the table he was proving to be slightly reckless. I began to pack my things. My work here was done. I began to walk out of the lab when alarms began to blare. Guards and scientists began to frantically run around and I could make out several words from their screams. "Its Shield. They're here".
