"My grandmother told me that I was special. That the Kree gave us unique abilities". The doctor looked up sharply at the young girl."The Kree"?
I lightly knocked on Kai's door and it opened. He was a middle aged man, with dark black hair and pale white skin with the stereotypical features of a Chinese asian. His face showed signs of weariness, as if he had been overworked his entire life. "Who are you" he asked. "Hello Mr. Shoman. My name is Raina and I know about your abilities". As soon as I said that statement his eyes widened. I could see, from the simple movement of his face, that he couldn't control it. He was shocked that I knew his secret, but more afraid than anything. "I don't know what you're talking about" he said attempting to close the door. I pushed back." I know you can't control it. I'm only here to help". A look of puzzlement crossed his face and a slight glimmer of hope. "How would you know how to help me" he asked. "Because, one day I will be just like you".
"So how do you know" Kai said, pouring me a cup of chamomile tea. "When I was younger my grandmother told me stories of blue angels that descended from the heavens in an attempt to conquer mankind. However, there was a select few that were special, and my grandmother told me I was one of them". He looked at me, trying hard to decipher if I was telling the truth. In truth, I was. "All I want is to help you learn the true nature of abilities". He silently surrendered and desperately voiced his concern." I need help. I can't control it. Everytime I feel some type of emotion, sparks fly. Literally. Anything and everything I touch is burnt to crisp". He subtly glanced at a picture on the wall, of himself and a woman. It suddenly became clear why he was so eager to get help. "How many years were you married". Tears welled in his eyes." For fourteen years. Long before I was cursed with this...". I stopped him before he continued." You are not cursed. This gift you have is not a curse. The electricity you wield at your fingertips is unique. Its what makes you much more than human"."But I killed her" he screamed. "We got into an argument and I couldn't control myself! I killed her! I KILLED HER"!!! I calmly stood up, ignoring the growing tension rising within the room. "That is why I am here. I know someone who can help". "Who"? "There's a doctor who specializes in helping the gifted develop their abilities. Her name is Debbie. I'm sure she can help". He nodded his head and contemplated his options. I tilted my head to allow my eyes to fully meet his. He was taller than me but he met my gaze when I looked up. "What I want is for people like you to achieve their true potential in the world. The age of the gifted are coming and I want you to strive in that new world". He looked at me for a moment." Let me get my coat"he said, and walked into the hallway. I went back outside and stood by the car, phoning Po."He's on his way to our lab in China. I've already assigned him to Debbie this time. She needs a few more subjects". I smirked at the thought of Debbie's failed experiments in the past. Hopefully, she'd score better with this one."Did he come willingly" Po's sophisticated voice pressed. I gave a slight smile as Kai stepped out of the house in a black leather coat. "Yes. He was more than willing".
