Darkkit was digging her claws nervously into her nest.
Willowfrost let out a chuckle as he lowered her head and softly groomed her fur. "It's alright to be nervous, dear. But try not to destroy my nest, alright?"
Darkkit purred. "Alright!"

Snowkit laughed. "Ha! I bet Darkkit's gonna trip on her ceremony!"
Willowfrost swung her head to Snowkit. "Snowkit! What have I said about you being rude to your sister? One more comment and I'll have Redstar postpone your apprenticeship!"
Snowkit lowered her head. "Sorry, mama.."
Darkkit let out a sigh in relief of Snowkit stopping her comments.

They then heard a yowl outside the stone den. "All cats old enough to drift in the snow, gather below the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Darkkit excitedly bounced out of the nursery, padding towards the crowd of cats around Highrock.
Snowkit grinned as she leaped in front of Darkkit, pulling up her hind leg in front of Darkkit.
Darkkit widened her eyes and quickly leaped to the right side.

She looked over to Snowkit, eyes in shock. "What are you doing..?"
Snowkit smiled innocently. "Just excited for my ceremony.."
But she couldn't hide the suspicion in her heart. Was Snowkit trying to trip me?

Redstar sat down on the Highrock, looking down at the kits in the snowy clearing. "Darkkit and Snowkit have reached their sixth moon, and it's time for them to become apprentices. Snowkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Snowpaw. Your mentor will be Robinclaw."
"Snowpaw!"
"Snowpaw!"
"Snowpaw!"
Snowpaw bounded over to Robinclaw and touched noses with him and sat down next to him.

Darkkit let her yowl the loudest. She couldn't just not chant her sister's name, even if Snowpaw was rude to her.

Redstar then gazed over to Darkkit.

She heard Ravenspots mutter. "He's really gonna make that weakling an apprentice? Why not send her to the elders's den already?"
Darkkit winced, her heart shattering.

Redstar spoke, "Darkkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be Darkpaw. Your mentor will be Ivywhisker."

Darkpaw waited happily for the chanting of her new apprentice name, but no one yowled. Only mutters between the warriors.
Darkpaw wanted to disappear.

She turned towards Ivywhisker and padded hopefully toward her. No matter the mutterings, she knew it was tradition to touch noses with her new mentor.
Ivywhisker rolled her eyes and forcefully bunched her nose towards Darkpaw's.
Darkpaw winced, it felt like a smack to the muzzle.

Then, for a moment, Redstar glared at his Clanmates. He clearly noticed the Clan's reluctance of chanting her name. "Darkpaw! Darkpaw!" he yowled with pride and anger in his yowl.
With worries glances, the Clan started chanting her name. "Darkpaw! Darkpaw! Darkpaw!"
Willowfrost let out a sigh of relief.

As the meeting ended, Darkpaw padded over to her mentor. "So, what do we do first?" she mewed excitedly.
Ivywhisker let out a grunt. "Obviously showing you the borders. You think you can hunt in a territory you don't even know?"
Darkpaw shook her head immediantly. "O-of course not! I was just asking.."
Ivywhisker hissed, "Then follow me."

Darkpaw felt like her legs were going to crumble if she walked one more step. "And lastly," Ivywhisker mewed. "This is Snakerocks."
Darkpaw glanced around at the small white clearing with a large boulder in the middle of it.

"What's that?" Darkpaw mewed.
"That is Snakerocks. Don't be a frost-brain and look inside, it's full of adders that could kill you in instant with one bite."
Darkpaw shivered at the pain a cat could be in under those circumstances.

"Let's head back," Ivywhisker grunted.
Darkpaw let out a sigh. I bet Cloudpaw has a better mentor than this..

As Darkpaw came down into the IceClan camp, she padded towards the apprentices' den with a droop of her tail.
Something small and hard hit her at the back of her head.

She swung her head around in surprise to see Snowpaw grinning at her with a pile of pebbles. "Nice catch, Fatpaw! I'm surprised you could even feel that!"
Darkpaw hissed, "What do you want, Snowpaw."
Snowpaw shrugged. "Just wanna play a game."

At the edge of Darkpaw's vision, she saw Ravenspots watching his daughters with a cold expression. As if he was enjoying his daughter bully his other.
Why isn't he doing anything to stop her? She worried.

Darkpaw glared at her sister. "I hate your games."
Snowpaw yawned, looking concerned. "Oh wowwww, I'm so sorry you feel that way..." she then grabbed a pebble and aimed to hit it at Darkpaw's muzzle. "Not!"

A pelt went in between; not bigger than them, though, about the same size as them.

Cloudpaw stood his ground as he growled at Snowpaw. "What do you think you're doing Snowpaw." he growled at Snowpaw through clenched teeth.
Snowpaw used her tail to hide the pile of pebbles. "O-oh, uhh.. Heyyyy Cloudpaw!"

She circled around him nervously and wrapped a paw around Darkpaw's neck and smiled nervously at him. "Me and my sister were just playing! See?"
Darkpaw growled. What a bold-faced lie.

Cloudpaw let out a growl. "Didn't look like that to me. Now leave Darkpaw alone.. now."
Snowpaw chuckled nervously before racing into the apprentices' den.

Cloudpaw let out an annoyed sigh as Darkpaw padded up to Cloudpaw shyly. "Hey.. thank you. That was pretty brave."
Cloudpaw glanced at her with a amusement. "Pretty brave? More like, pretty easy."
Darkpaw sighed sadly. "For you, maybe. But it's hard for me.. Whenever I tried to stand up to her, she attacks me."

Cloudpaw layed his tail along her spine. "Let me give you some advice, Darkpaw. If all they do is make you feel terrible, make them feel the same way. Push them down. Until they can't hurt you anymore."
Darkpaw beamed. "Alright, I will! Thanks!"

Darkpaw purred as Cloudpaw nodded and left her alone.
Now, things started getting brighter and brighter..
