Darkpaw's legs unbalanced as Snowpaw shoved Darkpaw down a snow hill, and she crashed face-first into a pile of snow, cold snow going through her nostrils.
Ivywhisker rolled her eyes. "Apprentices!" she scoffed.
Robinclaw raised an eyebrow.

It had been a few moons since Darkpaw had started her training, but it wasn't going the way she thought it would. It seems like Snowpaw would come up with new insults each day.

Snowpaw grinned from the top of the hill. "OOPS! Sorry, clumsy!"

She purred as she looked down at her sister as Darkpaw lifted her head, her pelt covered up in snow. "Though, why am I apologizing? After all, you're clumsy!"

Darkpaw mumbled.
"What's that? What you babbling about?"
She snapped her head to her, anger in her eyes. "I'm... NOT CLUMSY!!!"

Snowpaw looked at her claws, looking bored. "Oh, well, if you want, I can come up with a different nickname." She sneered at she looked back down at Darkpaw. "Something more vibrant... like frozen stick! That pile's practically your home! You'll have to hibernate soon!"

Cloudpaw's words echoed in her ears.
If all they do is make you feel terrible, make them feel the same way. Push them down. Until they can't hurt you anymore...

With a snarl, she leaped and lunged for Snowpaw.
Snowpaw purred in amusement as she backed away just in time, just for Darkpaw to land on the other side. "Oh... You missed! Ha!"

She snapped her head with a snarl so rageful, it didn't sound normal.
Snowpaw looked at her in slight surprise. "Okayyyyy, now that's creepy."

Darkpaw leaped, and plummeted her over the hill, spitting fiercely.

"Darkpaw! Snowpaw!" Robinclaw shouted.
Ivywhisker purred, grooming herself. "Awww, come on now. It's really cute!"

Snowpaw hissed and smacked Darkpaw and kicked her sideways with a snarl. "Get off me, you... you.. you psycho! YOU'RE CRAZY!"
Darkpaw hissed in pain as her head hit the snow hard.

Robinclaw stepped forward, bounding over. "Now, that's enough, Snowpaw! You overdid it!"
Snowpaw hissed at her mentor. "She attacked me first!"

Darkpaw curled in her nest in shame as she heard her parents argue.

"How could you encourage your daughter of this? Attacking her own sister?"
"My daughter? She's our daughter, you nit-wit! And are you that stupid enough to believe I would encourage something like this? If anything, you're encouraged this behavior with your absence in her life!"
"Me? I spend plenty of time with my kin!"
"Favoring Snowpaw over her is not what I would call spending time with kin."
"Is it so wrong to hang over the stronger of the litter?"
There was a snarl and a sound of unsheathing of claws. "Take. That. Back."

She heard pawsteps and turned around to see Cloudpaw.

"How bad is it?" Darkpaw mewed sadly.
"Not that bad," Cloudpaw sat by her and gave her a look of sympathy. "You're only skipping the next Gathering."
"But that was going to be my first!" She widened her eyes in horror as she sat up.
"I know."

She unsheathed her claws in anger. "It's all Snowpaw's fault. She's the one who taunted me into it."
Cloudpaw looked at her in the eyes, "But, hey, look at the bright side!"
Darkpaw looked at Cloudpaw with a huff. "And what great bright side could there be to this?"
Cloudpaw wrapped her tail with hers. "You stood up to your sister for once in your life."
Darkpaw puffed her chest with pride. "Yeah, I did! And it felt.. amazing!"

Cloudpaw nodded. "And maybe one day... you'll make her not say another insult for the rest of her life!"
