Ella woke up beside the fireplace to her stepmother calling her name.

"Ella! I thought breakfeast was ready...."

Ella quickly got up to process the situation, she didn't wake up.

"It is, I just need to heat it up again."

Her stepmother and her sisters walked toward the dining table to eat breakfeast as Ella set down the food.

"Ella, what's down on your face?"

"I'm sorry Madame?"

Drizella looked at Ella.

"It's ash from the fireplace!"

Anastasia spoke in disgust: "You'll get cinders in our teeth!"

"Let's call her Cinder-Wetch!"

"No! Dirty Ella!"

"CINDERELLA! It's perfect!"

Tremaine looked at her daughters with a smile. "You're too clever.- Why, Ella? Who's sitting here? Have we forgotten someone?"

Tremaine looked at the empty seat with a bowl and plate and a few spoons and forks.

Ella looked at her stepmother. "I thought, today I would eat with you..."

Tremaine looked at her in shock.

"Well, that's to much to ask.... make meals for us, then eat with us? That's to much. Wouldn't you prefer to eat when all the work is done Ella? Or should I say Cinderella!"

Ella, sad and torn, picked up her plates and went back into the kitchen. She stared at the table, then dropping and breaking her plates.

However, It might have been good for Ella's stepmother and sisters to treat her this way, if they haven't.... she would have never met the prince.

Ella out of anger, rode on her hourse to the forest to calm down a bit. She kept thinking of her stepmother and the promise she made to her mother. Have courage and be kind.

Ella dashes through running into a stag.... She looks into his eyes, and his hers.... She see's a hunting party nearby.

"Run.... Run! Or they'll get you! Go!"

With that, the stag went dashing off. Ella then started following the party, until a man stopped her horse, as it was going to fast.

"Woah, woah... Are you alright miss?"

"I'm fine, but you nearly scared my friend!"

"Yes. And who is this friend?"

"The stag!"

"Ah. The stag is your friend?"

"Well, I looked into his eyes, and he looked into mine... I felt like their was a connection!"

"Well we're hunting him."

"Why!?"

"Because it's what's done."

Ella was shocked, the man acted like it was nothing.

"Just because it's whats done, doesn't mean it's what should be done!"

"Yes I find that wise..."

"You have to have courage and be kind to that stag."

"Have courage and be kind huh?"

The man walked and Ella looked at eachother for a moment.

"Uh, What do they call you miss?"

"Nevermind what they call me..."

"My name's Kit."

"Where do you live?"

"At the palace."

"You're an apprentice?"

Ella started smiling at Kit. He was so, charming and-

"Yes... You could call me that...."

"Do they treat you well there?" Ella asked.

"Much better than they should.... How about you miss."

"Well, not very..."

Kit looked at Ella.

"Well I'm sorry...."

Ella smiled.

"Not your doing!"

The man smiled even more.

"Not yours either am I right?"

Soon, a man came calling Kit.

"Your Highness-"

"KIT! IT'S KIT! OK? KIT!"

He looked back at Ella once more.

"I hope to see you again miss."

"And I you."

With that, Kit left Ella.

Back at the palace, Kit talks with his father, the King of the kingdom.

"You know you'll be punished for letting that stag go.... You should have killed it!"

Kit smiled at his father.

"Just because it's whats done doesn't mean it's what should be done. Something like that."

They walked into the room to check on the King's condition.

When they were done, the doctor spoke.

"Sir.... I..."

The King looked at him.

"Nevermind... If it takes that long to say..... I think I already know...."

"Father..."

The King looked at Kit.

"You need to find a bride..."

"Can I marry anyone?"

"You have to marry for the kingdom's good."

Kit looked dissapointed.

"Fine, but for the Kingdom's good, every maiden, noble or peasant is invited."

"Yes sir..."
