The day started off good, great, even. Annie woke up around nine, leaving her room and finding Remi cooking her seaweed soup. On the kitchen counter she found a note and a cupcake left by Boram.

"I wish I could skip school but I've missed a lot of days already, sorry...enjoy your day though! HBD ILY!"

"She woke up nearly an hour earlier to get you that."

Remi commented as she placed the pot on the table.

"She's so cute..."

  Annie smiled, grabbing a spoon.

"Oh~ not bad!"

"I got the recipe from my grandma."

She winked, sitting beside the girl.

"What are your plans for today?"

"Hm-"

"Ah, right! You'll spend it with Changbin like always, right?"

Although Annie still felt hurt, she hated the idea of letting her feelings show - especially to Remi, she would feel bad.

"That idiot has other plans, I'll do something else. Are you free?"

"Plans!? On your birthday!?"

  Annie shuggred.

"Well, I have a commercial shooting around 2 pm."

"So we can hang out until then?"

"Hell yeah! What do you wanna do? I'll do everything I can to entertain my girl on her birthday!"

Said girl laughed - maybe Changbin having plans wasn't that bad.

Afternoon came and Annie had to say goodbye to her friend. She looked at her phone, thinking about who to call.

"Hey, Jun!"

"Birthday girl! You never call first on your birthday, what's up?"

  Yeonjun answered, panting a little.

"Oh, were you practicing? Sorry."

"It's okay, we're taking a 10 minute break...I have an 8-hour long practice today..."

"Eight- Hell, good luck!"

"Thanks, I'll need it. But you called..?"

The line stayed silent for a few seconds.

She called to ask him out.

Annie knew if Yeonjun found out Changbin had ditched her and she was now alone, he'd come meet her, even if that meant getting in trouble.

"Just wanted to tell you I'm having way more fun than you."

"Ha, great to know. Good bye."

"Bye!!"

She laughed, stopping when her finger reached the red phone icon.

Okay, next?

Annie did have a lot of friends, but not close ones. She didn't have many friends to call at times like these. Most of her "friends" were people she got along with, but never really hang out with.

Is Hannie busy?

"Hi there."

"Happy birthday!"

Immediately, the frown on her face turned into a smile.

"You've told me that five times already."

"Because I want you to have a happy birthday. You're supposed to be enjoying it, why did you call?"

"I was wondering if you want to spend the rest of the day with me..."

"Wai- really!?"

She placed the phone further from her ear, trying not to get deaf.

"Yeah? Are you busy? I'm in the resting room."

"Nope! I'll be there in a minute! Han, we're- Bye!!"

Was that Chan's voice?

With a shrug, Annie gathered her belongings and got up from the couch, walking towards the closed the door.

"Hey!"

The boy leaned on the wall, catching his breath.

"Did you run?"

"I didn't want you to be alone on your birthday."

If Annie wasn't a professional in hiding her emotions, she would've cried at the spot.

Those words hit hard, but at the same time warmed her heart.

That's when she realised, Han Jisung would always be there for her. She could count on him.

  For anything.
