A mix of hums, intruments and vocals echoed through the small and dim studio. Annie was having a good day, which made the creative process ten times easier. She had just finished writing the lyrics for the second song of the day when a light knock was heard on the door.

"Yes?"

"Rima!! What are you doing here!? It's almost time!"

Remi opened the door, quickly scanning the whole place: a black hoodie, a tote bag and a few cushions on the sofa, Annie's shoes were under the table (there was just something about being barefoot inside the studio), her MIDI keyboard, the computer and a bottle of iced peach tea above it.

"Oh! You want to watch it together?"

"The girls are inside the practice room, come on!"

Annie felt thankful converses were easy to put on - she was being dragged.

"Finally!"

The maknae greeted them, Jaein was turning the computer on.

They were about to watch the MAMA announcement of nominees' livestream.

Of course the girls weren't expecting to win song of the year or any other daesangs, but they longed for a ROTY - Rookie of The Year - award.

Ah, right, Annie didn't show, but she was really hoping to at least get nominated with one of the songs she made as SPIKE.

"It'd be nice if TWICE won artist of the year."

  The known fangirl, Remi, commented.

"It would..."

"Holy..."

Annie let out a quiet gasp as she heard the song playing.

"Woah! TXT for song of the year! Congratulate them for me, please, Rim!"

Boram smiled and clapped while her friend was still in awe.

"I will...I only talk with Yeonjun, but I will..."

A grin formed on the elder's face.

I'm glad he's doing well.

"Okay!! It's our category!"

The four of them glued their eyes on the screen, some evidently more nervous than others.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! OH my God!!!!"

"We did it!!!!"

"We still have to actually win it, but yes! We did it!"

"I'm proud of us."

They did a group hug and soon the maknaes went back to yelling.

The almost 100% sound proof dance practice certainly was the best location they could've chosen.

"Okay! Now let's go back to practice!"

Jaein clapped her hands. Annie glanced at her, then brought her attention to the screen again.

We still have some categories left though...

"Not yet! We need to see if our producers here will be nominated!"

Remi placed her arms around both of their shoulders.

"I probably won't, I didn't write for big artists this year."

Boram shuggred, she didn't really care that much about winning something as a writer or producer.

"Oh! Best composer!!"

  Annie's heartbeat increased.

  And then slowed down again.

"Ah..."

The other three exchanged looks. Should they comfort her? Pretend it didn't happen? Curse at Mnet?

"You know what? Let's turn this off."

As Jaein reached for the power button, Annie held her wrist.

"There's still producer of the year."

  She said, fixing her glasses.

  The leader sighed.

"Annie, if you weren't nominated for best composer, you definetly won't be producer of the year."

The three turned their heads to her.

Was that really necessary? It's not like they have an urgent schedule, so why couldn't she wait ten more minutes? Did she have to discourage her own team mate like that?

"Those are two different categories for a reason."

Annie pointed with her eyebrows to the screen, then got up to leave.

    SPIKE had been nominated.
