I leave Kathrines house and go to my car to get my charger for my phone. As I walk to my car I see my mother leaned on the driver door of my car. "Get the hell off my car!" I confront in a ordering tone. "oh Regina, don't frown, you'll get lines. god knows you don't need to make yourself look worse " She says getting off my car. I open the door, get in my car, and shut the door.
"You don't have to be mean." She says through the door. I try to ignore her and look for my charger. "I need to talk to you, dear." She continues.
"Oh don't ignore me...it's about your father." She continues. I stop in my tracks and roll down my window. "What about daddy, Is he alright?" I ask confused. "He's dead, dear."
Instantly, I feel hot tears start to form in my eyes, but they don't fall. I open my door, not caring if my mother was in the way or not, and go back to Kathrines house.
I swing the door open and slam it. "Regina, are you alright?" She walks into her living room and rushes over to me. Emma fallows in behind her and looks confused. I stand in silence. "Regina?" Emma asks walking twords me and holding my arms. I fell like to want to cry but I remain calm. "baby what's wrong?" Emma whispers. "Gina, you know you can tell me anything. What happened outside? Was it your mother, did she do something?" Kathrine asks walking across the room. "My father is dead" I whisper not being able to say it any louder.
"Oh, honey." Kathrine sympathetically says as she holds me in her embrace. "i don't even know how to feel about it." I say moving out if Kathrines arms. A tear finally falls and my lips starts to fall down
"I haven't talked to him sence he and that hell beast abandoned me." I say somehow still remaining calm. "You seem awfully calm." Emma remarks finally walking my way.
All I can do is shrug
"I guess I'm just a little numb. I'm sure its all going to hit me later." Say starting to stare off into nothing
"Regina, why do you always over react to the simplest news?" My mother says walking into Kathrines house.
"Simple knees? You're husband is dead " I start to grow loud and storming her way. "I've come to terms with that." She laughs
"How dare you!" I spit. "you retched woman. That man gave his everything so you would be happy. He abandoned is only daughter for you! I hope you rot I hell!" I yell then strike her across her face.
She stands in shock. "Leave my house right now before Emma arrests you! You're not welcome here, cora." Kathrine yells at her and Emma walks to the door and escorts her out.
"I'll make sure you get nothing from this you bitch" I say loud enough for her to hear on her way out.
"Regina , Im so sorry." Emma says shutting the door and walking to hold me in her arms. I stand there not even realizing I wasn't hugging back.
"I'm so sorry this is how your birthday is going." Kathrines says. "I think I'm gonna go home and call it a night." I say leaving Emma's embrace and wiped my face. "Let me go get your purse and I'll be right back." Emma says leaving and going to Kathrines kitchen
"Come here" Kathrine says holding her arms out for me to come. I wrap my arms around her and lay my head on her shoulder. "Don't be sad, Gina. Life goes on...yours and his. He might have made some bad decisions but he was a good man." She says holding me tight and tears of her own starting to form. I barely heard a word she said. I just nodded and waited for Emma.
