Wendy and Emerald had just passed the main school doors. This main area was very beautiful and open. There were some little flowers and bushes growing in planters that lined a path to the front desk. In front of those planters were benches. The theatre was to the left and the nurse's office was to the right. Everything was quiet and, according to Wendy, it had been for hours. That meant Sonic nor Shadow had left the premise recently. So much for hoping. They searched around for hours knocking on doors, checking through rooms, and even calling for them. Nope, it was silent. There was nothing. No leads. No hints. No peep from some mysterious kidnapper.
After looking for what felt like ages, Wendy sighed and sat down on one of the benches. "Oh, we've looked everywhere. Where are they Emerald?"
The teal hedgehog was silent. She was quiet for so long that Wendy nearly thought she didn't hear her. Suddenly, though, Emerald asked, "What do your abilities tell you?"
Wendy cocked her head. "Huh?"
Emerald sighed and sat down. Must she really spell it out? "You have time powers, do you not? Why don't you see if they can help you find our missing friends."
Wendy looked toward the ground. "I would if I could." She replied gravely.
"What do you mean?" Emerald questioned.
"Back at the party, when Amy first noticed Sonic was gone, I tried to see if I could find him then. There was nothing." Wendy stood up and crossed her arms. "I mean literally, the entire future was black, I couldn't see anything."
"Does this mean something bad may happen?" Emerald asked. She wasn't used to Wendy saying she couldn't go any further. Usually the wolf didn't know when to stop. Time powers are great but using them all the time is a bad idea for all involved.
Wendy placed her hands on her hips. "Something bad's already happening! Besides, it shouldn't even matter if I end up dying, I should still be able to see that exact moment and beyond it." She put her finger up and shook it back in forth. "No, I think someone's blocking me."
"Hm, but how?"
"That's what I wanna know."
Emerald placed her chin onto her palm. Without being able to use Wendy's ability, they were even more in the dark. Especially since someone else was stopping her use of it to forewarn everyone. "Well then, our only option would be to continue forward. If someone went through all the trouble to mask themselves from you, then I believe something big might be going on." She headed further down the hallway, leaving Wendy behind her to catch up. "Come on. Let's try head-"
"Can anyone hear me?" Someone shouted. "Help we're trapped!"
Wendy gasped. "Wait a minute, that's Amy!"
Emerald started bursting down the hall, taking her knives out of her belt pocket. "Then we must hurry." Wendy ran alongside her, extending her staff in case a fight should arise.
The two head down toward where Amy's cry came from. Once they turned the corner, they saw her, collapsed on the ground. A small bit of smoke dispersed as they came closer to Amy. She didn't look too hurt however the scratch across her face was certainly alarming. The blood from it made the injury look worse than it probably was. Wendy dropped her staff. It clanked across the ground. She kneeled down and felt Amy's hand for a pulse. The wolf sighed in relief when she felt thumping against her fingers. She turned toward Emerald, who was still in shock with her knives out, and ripped some of her mummy bandages off her costume. Softly patting Amy's wound, Wendy looked up at the teal hedgehog. "Go find Blaze and Arrow upstairs. Tell them to get down here, pronto!" Emerald nodded and headed toward the nearest staircase.
Wendy was left alone with Amy. She reached over to grab her staff when she felt Amy stir a little. The wolf placed the staff back in its place as she said, "Don't worry Amy. Emerald's going for help." As she said that, she realized that she should have told the hedgehog to grab Blossom instead. The pink cat did have a healing ability, and a powerful one at that. At the very least though, Amy was conscious.
"Not me." Amy muttered as she tried to sit up. Wendy panicked a little. What should she do? She wasn't in this field! How was she supposed to react? All she knew was applying pressure to the wound and calming someone down. After that, the experts were supposed to help with healing.
"What do you mean 'Not me'?" Wendy asked, trying to calm herself down.
Amy's eyes started to water. "He...He took Sonic and Silver."
"What?!"
