"Tens. Oh my God two tens" Ciri screamed as she excitedly clapped her hands together and I couldn't help but let the grin fall onto my face. The only person that had gotten a higher score than us was Clay and the girl from district 1. Apparently my machete skills had been enough for the gamemakers, all I had to do was show them that I could hit the targets without being able to see. They ate that shit up. Lane had told me he did a similar thing with his spears and so here we were. With almost perfect scores.

"That will be so good for sponsors" Keek cries just as happy and I looked over at Devis who just gave me a small nod of approval and just that gave me more confidence than both keek and Ciris reactions combined. We had trained day in and day out for those scores. No matter what taunts the careers threw our ways and no matter how long Clay stared at me with his eyes that seemed to look into my soul. How the hell did he get an 11 if all he did all day was stare at me? trying to intimidate me. It wasn't much longer after that until Col was in my room getting me ready for the interviews.

"Now, remember all you have to do is smile and play into your love story. You wanna be charming so don't talk about the other contestants unless Cesar asks even if he does you say the minimum or bring the conversation back to Lane. We're going for sweet here and that dress makes you look sweeter than a cupcake" he says as he points up and down at the dress and I had to admit he was a hundred percent right. I looked fucking cute in this outfit. It was like an autumn day and reminded me so much of home. When I looked over at  Lane he was dressed in some sort of green leaved outfit and I smirked. He was having a painful experience. They were trying to teach him how to sit down without moving the leaves away from his crotch and revealing the uncomfortable nude underwear he had underneath and I couldn't help but burst out laughing which causes Lane to send a playful glare my way.

"You better shut it Cin" he jokes and I smirk before rolling my eyes

"Try not to show your bulge Mr Lane" I state and I watch as he begins to laugh uncontrollably and Misha cries in horror as his outfit moves slightly revealing the underwear.

"Get out Cinder, get out!" Misha screams. I laugh along with Lane before my eyes land on Col who just shakes his head trying to hide his smirk and I rush out of the room trying to catch my breath outside. I tried my best to brush the hair out of my eyes but  as I look up my eyes land on the young girl from District 10.

"Hey" I say and she smiles over at me. She was in what almost looked like a cow suit. Not something I imagined a young girl like her to be wearing.

"Hi" she responds softly and I smile. It was the first time I think she had truely talked to me willingly. Even through all the training I had done with her using the knife, she had not muttered more than a few words to me, unless they were completely necessary. She hadn't even let out a thank you before she ran away from me that first day of training.

"I like your outfit" I lie and she lets another bright smile lift across her face

"It's not as pretty as yours" she says and I smile looking down at the dress before I brush a hand across it

"Trust me this old thing, you can hardly move in it" I state and she laughs

"I wanted to thank you for the knife skills. I think it will be really helpful in the arena" she whispers gently and I nod before moving closer towards her.

"Listen, I was thinking now that I've seen all your cool knife skills. Did you want to maybe be in an alliance with me?" I ask and I watched as her eyes widened.

"Really?" she asks and I nod

"Lane and I" I correct and she looks over at me with big eyes before she looks down at the ground playing with the shoes on her feet.
