I entered the library after a long day of school to meet Draco for a study session. We had a test coming soon and we were supposed to have a study session earlier this week, but I got packed with homework and had no time. I had just gotten back from the Herbology garden, helping Neville with some planting.

I set my bag down on the table and sat myself on the chair. I groaned, while Draco was in the chair next to me writing notes on a sheet of parchment. "Hey... you okay? You seem out of it, Y/n," he said, still writing. "Yeah, I just got done planting. Jeez, these mandrakes are a nightmare," I complained. Draco looked up from his parchment and looked at me. He smirked.

"What are you laughing at now? Is my misery funny to you?" I say. Draco shook his head. He lifted his hand up to my cheek and brushed his thumb against my cheek. "You got a little dirt on you," he says, laughing. I giggled and sighed. The touch of his hand on my face comforted me.

From the side of my eye, I could see my friends Hermione and Ginny with shocked looks on their faces. I quickly moved Draco's hand away from me. "What happened?" He asked. He motioned my head over to Hermione and Ginny, who were running up to me. "Y/n, I knew it! You're dating Malfoy!" She exclaimed. I shushed her.

"No, no, I'm not," I stuttered. "Keep your voice down."
"If you're not, then why are you so secretive about it?" Ginny asked as she giggled. I could feel my face go red. Draco pretended not to know what was happening and continued to write on his parchment. "I'm not, right Malfoy? We were paired for something and we have to study," I say.

"Yeah. We're a bit busy here, if you two don't mind we've got studying to do," he said, his face red as well. Hermione and Ginny giggled. "Okaay, whatever you say," they laughed as they walked away, with occasional glances back at us. I waited until they left the library, and looked around every corner I could possibly see just to make sure they were really gone.

"I'm pretty sure they know, Draco," I groaned. Draco laughs. I hit him in the arm. "Ow! What the heck?!" He exclaimed. "I don't know what's funny to you, everything seems to crack you up today," I say. Draco puts his quill down and puts his hands on mine. I felt the coldness of his ring on my hand.

"Don't stress about it so much, okay? Besides, it's funny how they try so hard to find out if it's true or not. One day, we'll be able to tell our friends, okay? But for right now, this is for your safety. I don't want anyone harassing you because of me." Draco's voice slowly turned from a comforting voice to him sounding sad.

I felt awful. Draco didn't have a very good reputation with students at Hogwarts and when they found out him and I became friends, I was called many different things, even having rumors spread about me. I held it off for so long and never told Draco, but when he found out, he was furious. I told him not to do anything because I didn't want people thinking negatively about him more than they already did.

So that's why when he asked me out, we decided to just hang out in my dorm and keep it a secret. He kept writing on his parchment, and I laid my head on his shoulder. I look up and see him smile warmly. I decided to stay the way I was and grab my book from my desk and read, in the exact position I was in.
