I couldn't breathe, couldn't talk, couldn't move, nothing. I'd been miserable for about a week now and my bed was covered in used tissues. Professor McGonagall knew this of course, and excused my absences from classes. She wanted to send me to the hospital wing, but I refused. My body felt like it was being pulled and sucked into bed. Any little movement made everything so much worse. I was wrapped up in so many blankets that I lost count. I was busy sniffing and sniffing and sniffing, trying to prevent the snot from dripping out of my nose and into my mouth.
My nose had gone red from the amount of times I blew it. I could barely eat anything either. Drinking water was the only thing I could really consume, but other than that, everything else tasted like absolute garbage. These days, I felt too horrible to fall asleep, so I spend most of my days wrapped up in endless blankets with my eyes closed.
One night, when my room was pitch dark, I was doing what I always do and kept still in my bed. But I felt a light hit my face and I slowly opened my watery eyes to a door slowly opening. Still struggling to keep my eyes open, I could make out a figure. A figure of someone I was really happy to see. "How you doin'?" He asked as he entered with a small wooden tray.
"I'm dying," I muttered with a hoase voice. Draco laughed as he set down the wooden tray on my bedside table. He pulled out his wand and pointed the tip of it on the wick of my half melted candle. "Incendio," he whispered. He was shocked to find the forest of tissues scattered across my bed.
Draco sighed. "Y/n..." he said. He started to pick them up and discard them. "What? I'm dying here, throwing away snotty tissues are the least of my worries," I said. Draco looked at me and smiled. "I know. I came to check up on you, haven't heard from you all day. I was busy with homework. Astrology should not be this hard..." he whispered to himself.
I looked over to the small wooden tray he set down. It had a bowl of soup, still steaming hot, sided with tater tots and a tall glass of water. I wanted nothing more than to be able to smell the deliciousness of what I was seeing. Draco sat down on my side and picked up the bowl. I could tell he was having a bit of trouble since the bowl was so hot.
Eventually, he managed and picked up a spoon. He dipped it in slowly and brought the spoon up to my mouth. "Draco, I can't..." I said. "I know it's hard, but yes you can," he said, trying his best to encourage me. I didn't budge and kept my lips shut. Draco sighed and left the spoon in the bowl, setting the bowl back down on the tray.
"I guess there's only one thing left for me to do..." he said, smirking.
"Draco...no..." I pleaded.
He threw himself onto me and hugged me tightly. He wrapped his arms around my arms, preventing me from moving an inch. I started to laugh because he slightly tickled my sides. "Draco!" I yelled out. I tried my hardest to break out of his arms. "Draco, get off me, I don't want you to get sick," I say.
"Well... I guess I'm just going to have to take it away from you if that means you don't have to suffer," he said beaming. I still squirmed in his arms, trying to break free. "It doesn't work like that, let me go," I say.
"To me it does," he said.I got too tired from trying to get him to let me go, so I just stayed in his arms. I wasn't going to deny that I was quite comfortable, more comfortable than I was these past few days. "Remember when you got sick one day and I just stayed with you for the entire night and three days later when you were completely better, I got sick and puked on your favorite sweater?" He said laughing.
"Stop laughing, it's not funny, I'm still pissed," I say, letting out a small giggle. "You even tried to blame it on poor Blaise." Draco held me tighter then eventually letting go and sitting back up, next to me. He propped me up straight on some pillows and picked the bowl up again. I was glad to see that it was still hot. He brought the spoon back up to my mouth and I took it in.
I loved the warm feeling it gave me as the warmth of the soup traveled throughout my body. He gave me a few tater tots to go along with it, then giving me the glass of water to help it go down better after I finished the soup. "See? That wasn't so bad was it please don't puke on me I said I was sorry," he said without a pause.
"I wasn't going to, weirdo," I said. He set the bowl back down on the tray and switched over to lay down next to me. We laid there and talked about all the stuff I missed while I was suffering in bed.
