- finding him asleep on the couch

I had a long day studying for exams at the library and had been there since early in the morning. I was there for so long that a couple of my friends came by to check on me. The last to check on me was Professor McGonagall. Everyone else already left and I was the only one left.

"Goodness, Ms Y/L/N. It's after hours, shouldn't you be in your dormitory by now? You shouldn't be up this late," she sternly said. I looked up at her with heavy eyes. "Oh.. right. I'm sorry, Professor. I just-- I was just finishing up some studying, but yes, you're right. I should go. Good night, Professor," I said, gathering my stuff and bidding her farewell.

I didn't realize how late it was. Nobody was in the halls, maybe two or three students, doing the same mistake I was. I might have caught Filch talking to his cat across the courtyard, but other than that it was silent. I barely had the energy to walk back to the common room, but I knew that I could get a good night's rest once I got there. Thankfully, it was the weekend and I didn't start exams until Monday. Still, I wanted to get most of my studying out of the way.

While I was on my way back to the common room, I had realized that I had completely forgotten about the picnic date I had promised to go on with my boyfriend, Draco. I stopped in my tracks. I felt awful. He had been doing everything for me while I was busy studying; getting me snacks, fetching things for me from my dorm, bringing me meals-- and I had promised that I'd go on a date with him, which was supposed to be earlier today.

But why hadn't he reminded me? I didn't see him all day.

I sped walked back to common room, hoping that I'd still be able to find him.

SLYTHERING COMMON ROOM
I slowly walked down the step from the door and looked around the common room.

There he was. On the couch.

"Draco, love, I am so so so sorry, I got caught-- Draco?" I said, coming closer to the couch.

He was knocked out, cold, just laying there with no blanket, and no pillow either. I looked around to see what he might have been doing that made him fall asleep on the couch.

There was a book open on the floor with all sorts of notes and scribbles.

Strawberry cake recipe... double fudge brownies recipe... macadamia cookies?

I was really confused on why he was reading a cookbook. But then I noticed a slight sweet scent in the air. I looked around again and found a picnic basket prepared on the coffee table in front of the fireplace. I looked inside.

Inside were double fudge brownies-- exactly what I told Draco I had been craving for a while. At that moment, I realized that he baked them... for me.

As touched as I was, I was also extremely ashamed of myself for forgetting the one time I swore to set aside for him.

I sighed and looked at his sleeping face. I decided to wake him up so that he could go back to his dorm and sleep more comfortably.

"Draco," I said softly, shaking his arm. He fluttered his eyes open and yawned. "Y/n? You've been gone all day. Are you finished studying?" He asked, sitting up.

"I am, and I'm so sorry I forgot about today... I saw what you did for me and I feel terrible. But I have decided that I won't study anymore over the weekend and I am all yours, I swear on everything, okay? But for now, you should head to your dorm so you can sleep better okay?" I told him. He nodded and gave me a slight smile.

He gave me a quick peck on the cheek as he walked to his dorm.
