Stranger Shorts-The Party

Four kids sit around a table, talking animatedly to each other. A game board sits on the table in front of them, with figurines and game pieces laying about.

One boy with pale skin and dark hair sits at the head of the table. He has a divider sperating him from the others. It's decorated in dark colors and dragons. This boy's name is Mike.

He looks at the others over his divider. "So are we ready?" He asks them. Two boys nod their heads, one with curly hair and missing front teeth and the other with dark skin and short hair. But the last boy looks around nervously. His hair is cut in a bowl cut and he's the smallest of the group.

The dark-skinned boy groans. "C'mon Will, we've been waiting forever."

"Lucas is right, Will." The curly haired boy says.

Will looks at them, stammering. "B-but she's almost here Dustin, I swear just a little longer." The other boys groan, having to wait longer for whoever's missing.

And as if hearing them, the door opens, revealing a tall girl with long brown hair in a ponytail. "Sorry for being late Will, they were taking forever." She says.

In her arms, she's carrying two boxes of pizzas and a six pack of Mr.Pibb. She closes the door with her foot, not noticing the boys at the table staring at her.

She puts the pizzas and sodas on the counter, still talking to Will. "They were shortstaffed so it took them forever to make these pizzas." She turns around and finally notices the boys.

She blushes in embarrassment, feeling awkward for not noticing them before. "Oh hey, you must be Will's friends. I'm Sarah." She introduces herself.

Dustin waves at her with a bright smile, but Mike and Lucas still stare at her. She wipes her hands on her jeans awkwardly and starts to walk towards the hall. "Well, here's your food and drinks. If you guys need anything, I'm in the last room on the left." She waves goodbye and walks down the hall.

Dustin hops up from his seat and moves towards the pizzas. He opens a box and grabs a slice, happily eating it. "You're sister's pretty cool, Will." He says with his mouth full.

Lucas, Mike, and Will walk over to the pizza and grab some slices for themselves. "She's pretty cool I guess." Will says. "She is the one who taught me how to play DnD."

Mike looks over at him in shock. "She knows how to play?"

Will nods while eating his slice.

"You think she'd play with us?" Dustin asks.

Will shrugs. "Probably, though she hasn't played in a while. She's been too busy hanging out with her friend Steve."

Lucas crosses his arms, looking at Dustin. "Are you sure we want a girl playing with us?"

"If she keeps buying us pizza, then hell yeah!"

Lucas thinks it over before shrugging. Mike looks at Dustin and crosses his arms as well. "But you have to go ask her since it was your idea."

Without another word, Dustin walks down the hall. He reaches the last door on the left and knocks twice. After a couple seconds, the door opens.

Sarah stands in the doorway with her hair down and her jacket off. Her eyes widen in surprise as she sees Dustin. "Uh, hey kid. What'cha need?" she asks.

"Wanna play DnD with us?"

Sarah raises an eyebrow at him. "You want me to play with you?" Dustin nods his head.

"You sure you want Will's lame older sister to play with you?" she asks again.

"Yeah, he said you knew how to play." He says. Sarah chuckles under her breath and shakes her head.

"You know what kid, sure, I'll play with you guys. Just this once though, don't wanna cramp your style." Little did she know that this wouldn't be the last time she plays with these boys.

In fact, she'd be playing with them for years, for she's finally found her party.

Hey.... so guess who's not dead. I know it's been literal months since I've last updated the story, and I'm so sorry, but shit's been crazy recently. I'm real sorry for the lame chapter, pretty anti-climatic after such a long haitus, but I promise that I'm going to try to be better about posting longer and better chapters.
