Cherilyn p.o.v.

"Cherilyn, come here," I hear Ms. Choi, my homeroom and Science teacher, call out.

"Yes?" I ask while walking towards her. It was the second time this week that I've been called up to her desk. Luckily it was Friday, so I didn't have to deal with it any longer.

"Do you know why you've been called here?" Ms. Choi asks.

"Because I was looking out the window, I know, I know." I respond,

"Actually, No. I will let that slide for today because I need you to do something for me," she says. "I need you to be a guide for the new student that is coming on Monday. They'll have the same schedule as you. I expect the best behavior, Cherilyn.",

"I'll behave, I promise," I simply state before giving a small bow and walking out of the classroom. Honestly, Ms. Choi isn't a bad teacher. I just can't focus in class. My ADHD self has to be looking outside or fidgeting with something. And it's not like I'm a bad student with bad grades. I get mostly B's, a few A's, and every now and then, a C.

And then my mind travels somewhere else. We're getting a new student. I don't know whether it is a she or he, but hopefully, they'll be nice and not stuck up. And also not some snooty rich kid that wears only expensive clothes as their personality.

I guess we'll have to wait for Monday. I suddenly get a nervous chill up my spine. What if they embarrass me? What if they bully me? Now I'm not so excited. I walk down the hall to the lockers, taking out the books I don't need out of my bag and grabbing the ones I need for homework. Then I head for the front gate.

As I'm walking out, I see my two best friends in the whole world; Chaeyi and Jungsoo. I've known Chaeyi for over ten years, and we met Jungsoo in our Freshman year. Now we're in our Junior year, a few months in.

I walk over to them and give them a big bear hug.

"Lyn, did you hear about the new student?" Chaeyi asks enthusiastically.

"Yeah, and guess what? I'm going to be their guide." I say, sounding more energetic than I wanted to.

Jungsoo just nodded, still adjusting to me and Chaeyi's weirdness.

The three of us walked out of the school gate along the sidewalk. Then a weird noise came from the boy and we stopped.

"!What's going on Jungsoo?" Chaeyi and I ask.

"I've got to hurry home. I forgot to sweep last night and I have to do it before my mom comes home." He shouts as he sprints to the right, down his street.

Chaeyi and I turn to each other and burst out into a fit of laughter.

We walk down our street. We're neighbors so we walk to and from school every day. Unless I have detention, which is usually once a week.

The walk is silent, only for a few minutes before Chaeyi decides to speak.

"What if the new student is a boy?" She asks. "Since you're going to be his guide, please be friends with him. That way he can be your boyfriend."

At her words, I stop in my tracks. I don't despise boys or anything, but I'm definitely not ready for a relationship. But what if they are a boy. I mean, it would be cool to be friends with the new student.

"All I can say now is let's pray they aren't going to be a rude person," I tell her, beginning to walk again.
