Chan: New Student (ON HOLD)

The News [Pt. 2]

After walking home with Chae, I stepped into my house. I walk in and take my shoes off.

"I'm home," I shout. I then hear footsteps coming from the hallway, and I turn to see my mother.

"Ah, there you are, Lyn." She says as she brings me into a big hug. My mom has always been nice to me. My father is also nice, most of the time. Whenever I misbehave, he gets a little mad at me. I don't think I've ever seen him fully mad before though.

"Hi mom," I said while hugging her back.

"Your father and I have to go tonight to a board meeting. We have some noodles in the cupboard, will you be alright?" She says.

"Mom, I'll be fine. It's just one night." I reassure her. She gives me a soft smile and walks down the hall to my parent's bedroom.

Something that I might've forgotten to say was I have really bad anxiety. I hate being left alone and being in large social gatherings with strangers. It makes me feel nauseous and weak and a bit paranoid. I am actually kind of excited about meeting the new student. Maybe meeting them might help me.

My phone starts buzzing and I turn my phone on to see who's texting:

Bestie: Guess what?

Me: Hm?

Boi: What?

Bestie: Instead of one student, an entire
group of boys is coming Monday!!

Me: What?!?!

Boi: That's cool.
Maybe Lyn can become friends
with all of them.

I stand there in the hallway shocked. Now I have to guide an entire group around the school. And they're boys! I begin walking up to my room as Jungsoo and Chaeyi talk on the chat.

Bestie: Look at my baby all grown up.

Boi: It would be cool to be friends
          with them tho.

Bestie: Yeah exactly.

I put my bag on my desk chair and lay down on my bed, too tired to change out of my school uniform. But I know I have to so I drag myself out of the bed and take my skirt and switch it out for a pair of sweatpants and take off my button-down, tie, and blazer and place a large pink hoodie on.

I head over to my desk and take out my Math book and notebook. I begin to study. I don't really like Math, but I don't want to fail. I ended up studying for two hours before falling asleep with my head on my books.

I woke up around 8 P.M. My parents are probably gone by now. I stumble down the stairs and head to the kitchen to make myself some noodles.

I put the bowl of raw noodles under the faucet and place it into the microwave as I take out my phone.

Me: Hey guys

Bestie: Hello

Boi: Wassup

Me: I'm kinda scared of giving
        the new boys a tour and
        helping them settle in.

Bestie: Why

Me: 'Cause I don't want them
         to embarrass me

Bestie: Don't worry! Jungsoo and
I will protect you, right Jung?

Boi: Yee

Me: Thank you guys so much!!

Bestie: No problem

Boi: Np

I was feeling a bit better thinking of meeting the new boys. Who knows, maybe they will be very nice. I guess I'll have to find out on Monday.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

The microwave knocks me out of my thoughts and I grab the hot noodles. I set them on the diner table and get a pair of chopsticks. That's basically how the rest of my night was. I fell asleep watching a K-Drama suggested by Chae. It was kind of boring, but the lead actor looked pretty nice. Let's hope these new boys look at least decent as well.
