The food finally came after a while.
My father talked to Cherilyn's father about work and stuff.
Her mother then turned to me. "How are your studies, Chan?"
"They are going well. I might be able to achieve a scholarship if I continue to do well." I tell her.
"That's good. Cherilyn might need a bit of your assistance in Math since I hear you are quite proficient in the study," she tells me.
My cheeks heat up a bit at the statement. Tutoring Cherilyn might be fun. She actually seems to be quite an intelligent individual. At the thought of her, I turn my head. She's picking at the salad in front of her.
"Are you okay, Cherilyn?' I ask her.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, it's just kind of loud in here, that's all."
Speaking of it, the restaurant was kind of loud. Maybe she needs some fresh air.
"Is it okay if Cherilyn and I go outside for a bit?" I ask and the adults stop talking and turned to face me.
"It's just kind of loud in here," I say, trying to convince them.
"Sure, just make sure you guys come back in time to leave, which is in about fifteen minutes." Her father says.
"Okay, will do. Come on Cherilyn," I motion for her to get up. She looked at me with doe eyes before rising. We both walk out the glass door and sit on a bench in front of the restaurant.
"You didn't have to do that," she tells me.
"Well, you looked a bit stressed out, and I thought some fresh air would be nice,"
"Thank you," she said before looking at the sky. I also look at the sky and saw many beautiful stars. They were all so bright, some larger than others. The wind blows through my hair, and I notice that a sweet scent blew through the air. I was quick to realize that it was Cherilyn's.
I was completely focused on the sky when my phone buzzed. I take it out and see that it is a message from my father that says we should come back in now. I slightly groan and Cherilyn looks at me with a confused look on her face.
"We should go back in now, do you feel better?" I ask.
"Yeah, thank you," she responded.
We both get up and I hold the door open for her as she walks in. I follow her and we sit back down at the table. The adults were all talking about how we should all meet up again soon because this was fun.
My father then looks up at me.
"Are you ready to go?" He asks.
"Yep,"
Everyone collectively stands up and shakes each other's hands. I look over at Cherilyn and notice she was looking at me. Once our eyes met, she looked away with slight pink dust of blush on her cheeks. I chuckle a bit and walk over to her. She looks back at me.
"I'm going now, have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask.
She nods and says goodnight as I walk out the door and to the car. My parents also get in and we drove back home. I was kind of tired, but I couldn't get Cherilyn out of my head. Was I really starting to like her? I had only met her today. I push those thoughts aside and try to focus on other things like producing music. I would sometimes produce music for Changbin and Jisung and they would make lyrics. It's really fun; I can't wait to see all of them Monday.
