"What do you want?" I yelled, stepping into an ally way
The man stepped closer, "You're parents"
"No!" I shouted at him.
Suddenly, the scenery changed to a park. I was walking with my mother and father down a little stone path to some swings.
It was a memory I have from when I was little, and it played out just as I remember.
We spent a while on the swings, and it was almost sundown. We were walking back to our house when I spotted an ice cream truck. I begged my parents to get some, and they finally gave in. I got a chocolate ice cream cone and mom and dad got strawberry.
Just when the man inside the truck gave us the ice cream, I realized it was the same man that wanted my parents. He looked like a shadow, I could only see his piercing white eyes.
Lyn!
Cherilyn!
Wake UP!
I sat bolt upright in my bed to my parents hovering beside me.
"Darling, you were crying in your sleep. Are you alright?" my dad asked with concern in his eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just had a bad dream. That's all." I reassured them.
I noticed the sun peeking through the blinds. I'm guessing that it was morning, and my parents were in here to wake me up.
"Well, it's 8:30, so we're going to need you to get up, okay?" My mom asked.
I nodded and she smiled at me as her and my dad left my room. I sat up and put my feet on the floor. I pushed myself off the bed and went to my closet. I was guessing that we might be going somewhere so I chose something nice but simple.

I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs to the dining room where I found my parents.
"So today you and I will be going grocery shopping while your father has to go and buy a new toaster." My mother said, saying the last few words in an annoyed tone.
I looked over to see my father with a guilty expression on his face. I'm guessing he just broke the toaster.
I looked back to my mom and nodded. The two of us went down to the front door and put our shoes on, my dad following behind.
My mom had her own separate car, a red Mercedes, and my dad drove a black Toyota.
As my mom and I drove to the store, she turned over to me and asked "So, what's been going on at school nowadays?"
I turn my head to look out the window and sigh.
"We're getting a new group of students on Monday," I told her. "I'll be showing them around and stuff."
Honestly, I wasn't wanting to tell her that they were boys quite yet because I don't need her acting all weird.
"Boys or girls or both?" She asked.
Gosh dang it, mom. Now I guess I have to tell her.
"As far as I know all boys," I told her while mumbling.
"Well then, that's interesting. Maybe you'll have a boyfriend." She said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"That's not my main priority," I told her while staring at the passing scenery.
We finally arrived at the store after some silence in the car from our last conversation. I got out of the car and walked in through the entrance and grabbed a cart while waiting for my mom. When she got up to me, I gave her the cart and walked beside her.
The grocery list wasn't that long, we just needed some bread, milk, cheese, oats, cereal, and bagels. We headed over to the dairy aisle and got the milk and cheese. My mom told me to go over to the other aisle to get the bread, bagels, and oats.
I walk over to the bread aisle while looking down at my feet. Suddenly I bump into a hard surface, only to realize it was a chest of a stranger. I look up to see a boy about my age with fluffy blonde hair.
"I'm sorry, I should've been paying attention," I say to him bowing.
He let out a cute chuckle, "Don't worry about it," he said.
I look up to meet his eyes, feeling blush creep up to my cheeks. I turn my head and hear his footsteps walking away. I quickly grab the things I need and head over to my mom.
"Why do you look so flustered, Lyn?" She asked.
"I just ran into someone by accident," I tell her. I wasn't going to tell her it was a cute boy. Ew, stop it, Lyn, you just met him, you don't even know his name. Just thinking of him made me blush a little, but luckily my mother didn't notice.
After we finished shopping, we went home to find my dad plugging in the new toaster he bought.
"This time don't break it." My mother said.
We put the groceries away and my mom told me we'd be going out for dinner at 6:15 so I needed to be ready by then. I told her okay then went up to my room.
