10: Victory

"No... He beat me." Shigaraki gasped. "He's not any weaker at all. And look what he did to my Nomu. He cheated! Oh, come on. What's going on here? He's just as strong as he's always been. Dammit. Don't tell me I was lied to."

"What's wrong?" All Might asked him.

"Not attacking me? Didn't you say you were going to clear this level earlier? Well, come and get me, if you dare."

"Come on, Midoriya, (Y/n)." Kirishima called to us. "We should regroup with the other guys. The last thing we wanna do is get taken hostage or get in his way."

Even so... All Might needs help. I can't leave him.

"What? Are you scared?" The pro taunted.

"If only Nomu was here...he'd rush you right now. Pound you into the ground without giving it a second thought." Shigaraki panted.

"Tomura Shigaraki! Please, do not fret." Smoke dude said. "Look at him. He has definitely weakened. Nomu's attacks were successful. He's on his own. The children appear to be frozen in fear. And, look, our underlings are recovering."

'Ah, shit! He's right!'

All of the low-level thugs were groaning and getting to their knees.

"We likely still have a few minutes before their reinforcements arrive. If you and I work together, we can do this. We haven't missed our chance to kill All Might."

"Yeah. Yeah, you're right." Hands nodded. "This is it. We have no choice. We have to do it now. I mean, the big end‐boss is right here."

What is this, Calamity Ganon?

"I think All Might can hold his own against those two main guys. Let's make sure these dudes don't hurt anybody else." Kirishima said and activated his quirk. "Will you be joining us?"

"So this is it." All Might asked.

"Consider this revenge for what you did to Nomu!" Shigaraki yelled and lunged at him

Much to everyone's surprise, Izuku jumped forward, activating One For All in his arm and in turn breaking both legs.

"Don't you touch All Might. You stupid villain!"

Shigaraki changed his route and came at Izuku, trying to grab his face with his crumbly hands. I panicked and threw my yo-yo, which wrapped itself around Shigaraki's legs, send ing him to the ground before he could touch anyone. As if on cue, there was a gunshot and all our teachers burst in the doors and started fighting.

"Sorry, everyone! I know we're a bit late. But I got the teachers over here as fast as I could." Principal Nezu called to us. "Our priority is to protect all of our students!"

"Yes, sir!" The pros yelled.

"Aw, man. The pros are here." Shigaraki sighed. "It's game over. For real. Let's go home and try this when we can. I may have failed to kill you this time, but your days are numbered. All Might. Symbol of Peace. I am going to kill you."

And the villains left through Kurogiri's warp gate.

That day, we learned what pros could do. And what they fight against, to keep us all safe. It was a revelation we weren't prepared for. But somehow, we survived.

Izuku and I immediately charged at All Might.

"I couldn't do it. I wasn't able to help you." Izuku mumbled.

"That's absolutely not true." The pro said with his signature grin. "You two bought me a few vital seconds. If not for that, I'd be dead now. Young Midoriya, (Y/n). You've saved me once again."
