Now I understand how Sapnap and George feel, constantly third wheeling Dream and I. Ever since Karl arrived, him and Sapnap have been all over each other. They can't do anything alone and they're so clingy. I fully sympathise with the boys now, having to put up with our clingy asses.
We were currently at the arcade nearby the campsite. It was on the pier near the beach, the sound of the waves was clearly present inside despite loud clashing of coins and machines. We were working in teams to get as many tickets as we could, with just $20. The team that loses has to buy dinner.
We wanted to split the couples up so I was paired with Karl meanwhile Sapnap and Dream were paired up. We split off and started working on collecting tickets.
"Of course they're going straight to the basketball." Karl rolled his eyes and dragged me towards whack-a-mole. "I'm good at this, stand back and get ready to be amazed."
He started violently smacking the moles while giggling. How could someone be so cute and so terrifying at the same time.
"I got 50 tickets!" He smiled and shook them in front of me. "What next!"
We walked around trying to find the games with the best chances of winning. We tried to knock down the clowns and realised that throwing wasn't exactly our strong point. We decided whack-a-mole and luck games worked better for us.
We had a small handful of tickets while Dream and Sapnap had a big heap that they both had to carry. They must've been hundreds ahead of us.
"We're out of money, looks like we don't need it anyway though." Dream laughed at our sad pile of tickets in one of Karl's hands. "What's that, like ten tickets?" He scoffed.
"We still have $4. That's twice on the ticket wheel." I held up the money with a shrug. "Don't get too cocky."
"The ticket wheel? It's rigged, you won't get anything. The only way to win is by skill and you two combined have none at all!" Sapnap poked Karl's shoulder.
Karl and I shrugged it off, we were going to win this. I had a feeling.
I took two of the dollars and put them into the machine. I looked at Karl nervously, knowing damn well that the boys would make fun of us forever if we lost. I pulled the lever up and pushed it down as hard as I could, watching the wheel spin.
It started slowing and I could see the jackpot was coming up. I had a grin on my face, the wheel was stopping at the perfect time.
Almost perfect. It missed by a centimetre and I got one ticket.
"You really thought you were getting that jackpot didn't you!" Sapnap said as they both burst out laughing. I looked at Karl and faked wiping a tear away. "It's in your hands now."
"Quiet in the auditorium." He coughed and put his finger in the air. "Watch me get this jackpot. Winners pov winners pov!" His voice got high pitched and he put his two dollars in, the last of our money.
He put his hands on the lever, agonisingly slow as he pulled it up, to the point that I wanted to do it myself. He blinked and pushed down, all of us watching the wheel. Karl and I had hope in our eyes while Dream and Sapnap looked disinterested entirely, obviously thinking they've taken the win.
The wheel started slowing, the jackpot coming around again. Slowly inching closer and closer to us winning and boasting about it for months.
It stopped and the machine started flashing and buzzing. "Jackpot!" Karl giggled out. He started jumping up and down and ran over to shake Sapnap's shoulders.
"No way! NO WAY! We did it." I couldn't stop laughing. They were so cocky and we actually won.
"Oh my god you're dog water!" Karl smacked his hand to his mouth.
We were both celebrating our win. It wasn't just the fact that they had to buy us dinner, it was the fact that we could boast about this and tease them for it for as long as we want. They were sore losers and I loved it.
"That wasn't even skill? That was pure luck! You cheated the system." Dream said, talking with his hands.
"Cheated the system? We won fair and square, isn't that right Karl." He put his arm around me and we walked off to the ticket machine, cashing in a whopping 5,340 tickets. The jackpot gave us 5250 of them.
They also cashed in theirs, they only got 500 and they brought some sweets from the desk. We decided on getting a cute dinosaur plushie and some sweets. We named the dino..(give them a name!)

After a delicious meal brought by the still sulking losers, we headed up towards the shops on the pier. There were lots of cute souvenir shops with the basic seaside gifts you'd find everywhere else. It was nice to remember this trip with something though, something specific to this little town.
We all wandered through each shop, the locals talking to us and making friendly conversation. I had my hand tightly linked with Dreams. He was rubbing circles into the back of my palm with his thumb. We ended up in a small crystal shop. I had the biggest smile on my face. There were hundreds of crystals and fossils, some being historic to the town. I let the others carry on into the other shops, Dream lingering behind me for a little while before getting distracted by Sapnap calling him over.
I looked at all of the crystals, reading what they do and how they could help me. Some had beautiful necklaces but they were way over my price limit.
I gently held a beautiful purple gemstone, amethyst. It's said to be a symbol of peace and calming energy, protecting me against negative energies. I picked up a small necklace with the amethyst pedant, looking at it in awe, it really was a beautiful Crystal.
"Hello sweetie, could I help you with anything?" A kind, feminine voice said from behind me. They were the owner of the crystal shop.
"Amethyst is a great choice. The colour compliments you as well my dear." Giving a warm smile.
"Oh- thank you. I love it but I don't think I'll be buying anything today." I gave out a sad smile, I'd love to buy it but it was way too pricey for me to justify.
"No worries sweetheart, you have a good day."
I carefully put it down and decided to leave the shop. I met the boys outside, waiting on the steps to the beach they were messing about as like they always do.
"Hey guys!" I sat down next to Dream, my hand lacing into his.
"Find anything nice?" He asked gently, rubbing circles into my hand.
"Nah, it was all really expensive anyway." I shrugged.
"Anyone wanna dip their feet in the water?" We all laughed and headed towards the sea, taking our shoes and socks off and letting the cool sand sink between our toes.
The sea was slightly cold, as expected. It cooled us down. I wanted to swim again like we did in the lake last night but the boys didn't seem too keen. Having a sandy body wasn't that fun compared to showering straight after the lake. After all, we had a bit of a walk back to the campsite.
We stood with our feet in the sea and talked for hours. The buildings along the pier lit the sea up. Colours bleeding through the dark water.
"Anyone want a drink? I'm gonna go get a can of coke." Dream spoke up, putting his shoes back on. We all asked for one as well, he quickly ran off to get us the cans.
He returned a little slower than expected. "There was a queue for the shop, an old lady was taking forever." He handed us our drinks and sat down on the sand, enjoying watching the waves pass by.
