It's been roughly a month since I finished this re-write of Lady Eilean. It was a project that spanned 3 full rewrites, 2 full years, and 1 harebrained idea to record an audiobook, too. Apparently, I didn't think I was busy enough.
When you finish a book, you abruptly leave the world you've been deeply entrenched in. It's disorienting. On Wattpad, especially, you lose the excitement and thrill of having readers clamor over every update and speculate over every sentence.
Lady Eilean has always been a love letter to my readers and so, I wanted to make it official.
This book is for you. Because of you.
It's for everyone who ever felt like they weren't good enough. It's for everyone who knows the loneliness of not being at home in your own family. It's for the bonds and roots we cultivate with others - the new families we create as we move through life. It's for the hopeless romantics, the dreamers, the ones who want to do better. It's for everyone who ever felt like they needed permission, only then to realize they didn't, that they are their own masters. It's for everyone who has been scared to love or be loved.
I hope you found a place for yourself at Stormway. I hope you saw yourself, felt comforted, laughed, cried, raged. I hope you know you're so much more than your circumstances. I hope you found... well, hope.
Lady Eilean was such a massive project that I anticipate taking some time off...but I already have 100 new ideas so no good intention goes unpunished.
