My Angel [Completed]

Chapter 22

"Hey Miri... where's your best friend, huh? Where's our girl?" Jungkook called out to Miri as soon as he entered the pad. He slips out of his boots and sensed something was up when the fluffy poodle started whimpering and barking impatiently at him.

"Hana?!" He called out to Hana but the lack of reply from inside the house made Jungkook storm in and look for his Hana.

Miri was right behind him as he sprinted through the hallway then barged through the bedroom door. He sees Hana lying on his bed, looking peaceful it almost seemed like she was... sleeping?

He sat on the bed beside her and placed a hand on her arm. She seemed awakened after giving out a big yawn. Hana looked up seeing this baby bunny looking all worried and tense.

The sight of him looking distraught made her body jolt up from the bed. She cups his face with both hands and looks into those beautiful windows of his soul. "Baby? Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Miri acted all strange and I thought something bad happened to you."

"Oh... I was playing with her a while ago and I suddenly felt sleepy." Wait did she just say sleepy?

"What? So you slept?" Jungkook asked looking puzzled as her.

"Yeah... I guess so." Hana said letting out a big yawn.

"Has this ever happened before?" He asked curiously.

"No. Never. It's strange. I feel like I'm getting back to my old self. Does that even make sense?" Hana said in disbelief.

"Then that's good, right?" Jungkook asked with a hopeful smile on his face.

"Definitely..." Hana replied smiling widely but deep inside she was really weak. She didn't want Jungkook to worry. Not now, especially with his exams coming up.

Hana's been faking this whole time. The past days, she's been feeling weak. This is why she's been staying behind while Jungkook attends class. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Then it hit her... Could it be that she's really dying?

"Hana... I know you're still there. Please wake up." Namjoon says in tears as he stares at her younger sister lying lifeless before him.

"I'm really sorry, but your family needs to make a decision. I know it's not an easy one, but Hana's been in coma for more than 3 years now." The young Doctor says.

"But what about her progress? Her sudden movements, didn't you say they were good signs?" Namjoon asked in a hopeful voice.

"As I said before, they are nonspecific reactions. She's not getting any better and she's still here because we're giving her support." The young docotor revealed. "I'm sorry for being blunt but I would rather have you in the light than keep you hoping..." He stopped as he sees something odd on Hana's cardiac monitor.

Namjoon looked puzzled as the Doctor started to examine Hana's heart with a stethoscope. He looked surprised and started clicking on the machines connected to her frail body.

"What is it? Should I be worried?" Namjoon asked.

"It's strange, her heart raced just now. I had to adjust her dose." He says with a look of disbelief.

Little did they know, Hana's soul is right there, staring at herself from across the room. She couldn't bring herself to see Namjoon in tears. He's been suffering this entire time, what if the best decission is to take her off life support?

Hours passed, but Hana stood there even after her hyung left. "What do we do now?" She asked the question from the lifeless form in front of her.

"Are you tired? I hope you're not, 'cause I really want us to live. Let's live... and be with Jungkook." She whispered as the beeping sound of the life support filled the room.

Hana left as soon as he realized Jungkook will get worried if he comes home to an empty space.  Her thoughts filled with uncertainties led her to sit by the bench outside of Jungkook's apartment. She felt too weak to get up and needed a breather.

"You're starting to feel weak more often, right?" A strange voice came from behind. Hana turned to see who it was but got confused to see no one there.

Then out of nowhere, an old man appeared at the opposite end of the bench, sitting a few feet away from her. "It only means your journey here on earth is about to end."

Hana looked around to see if the man was indeed talking to her. As he turned his gaze towards her, Hana gasped to see the same old man hired by Jimin and Jungkook. "Wait! You're that fraud guy!" Hana shouted.

"How have you been... Hana?" He replied looking straight into her eyes.
