Hana got back in time for the sunset, but Jungkook wasn't home yet. She saw his message on the fridge and couldn't really tell how long will a couple of hours be, since he didn't write the time.
She went to the balcony alone to see the sunset. It didn't look as beautiful without having Jungkook hugging her like before. Somehow she felt alone.
It was almost dark and the sun has already left the skies, a portion of its rays are still visible, but not as vibrant as earlier. Thoughts of Jungkook came flooding in, as she tries to find the courage to tell him the truth about herself.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the opening door. In comes Jungkook in a suit and tie. She waited for him to see her, but he didn't look at the balcony. He just went straight ahead to the bathroom and took a shower.
That's strange, because Jungkook always wants to take a shower after dinner. Anyway, she waited patiently in his room but Jungkook went straight to the kitchen instead.
Hana walked in on him as he skillfully moved around the kitchen. He was too consumed with cooking, that he didn't notice Hana sitting by the kitchen counter.
Hana didn't realize Jungkook knew he was there all along, until he talked. "I was with Hobi." He said, while placing the cup noodles and beef skewers on the kitchen counter.
"Oh..." Hana said in reply, not really sure if it was a good or bad thing. She whished in her mind that Hobi hasn't blown her cover just yet, but judging by the way Jungkook seems distant, makes her suspect he knows more.
He looked at Hana with a serious expression she's never seen in a long time. The same one he showed when something was bothering him.He started eating, but Hana can sense the trouble in his actions.
The moment she got the chance, Hana placed a hand on his arm and caressed it lightly, waiting for him to look at her.
"I've been meaning to tell you something. I'm terrified you'd hate me for not telling you sooner..." Hana started saying with a quivering voice.
"I thought we're way beyond being terrified..." He said in a cold tone.
"I won't ask you not to hate me, 'cause that's too unfair... I would rather ask you to believe me when I say, that it's what I thought is best for you and me."
He lets out a silent nod, signaling Hana to begin talking. This entire day has been too overwhelming for him. He felt all sorts of negative things, but Jungkook kept his calm and didn't want to conclude anything before hearing Hana's side.
"That time we were in Busan to visit your parents, I saw Hobi in your cafe. He talked to your mom and I kind of figured out that they're keeping your true past away from you." Hana started slowly, trying to remember everything she wanted to say. Jungkook deserves to know the whole thing.
"I followed Hobi to try and find out more. That's when I knew what happened back then. At first, I didn't want you to remember, because I don't want you to hurt yourself again."
"When you finally recognized me and I could stay with you like this, I thought it's okay, since I can take care of you."
"One day, I began feeling weak and couldn't even get to where I intended to. I'm suddenly transported in a room with beeping sounds everywhere."
"It was in a hospital room. I couldn't recognize who the patient was, but when I saw Namjoon oppa there and the name on the monitor, I almost felt like dying all over again." She said, tears now started streaming from her eyes.
"Kookie, I'm still out there, and what's strange is whenever I feel weak, I'm suddenly dragged to where my body is."
Jungkook's face has turned from being serious to having that worried expression. He stood and hugged Hana from the back. Resting his chin on her head. That made her cry out more, shaking with emotions. "I'm so sorry.... I didn't mean to hide it from you this long... I'm really sorry..." Hana cried out, letting every apology roll out her tongue every chance she gets.
"Hana, I know it must be so hard for you to bear everything. But did it ever occur to you, that I could've been there to ease your pain, or just be there to hold you at least?" Jungkook said in a softer tone.
He turns her to face him, and he could feel Hana's wet tears on his shirt. She hugged his waist while he continued to tell her how he feels.
"I was a naive teenager back then, who suddenly lost his first love. Anger was the only thing I could think of to cope. But I'm a grown man now Hana. Trust me when I say, I can handle anything. Just give me the chance. Let me prove myself to you."
