The Prince and the Frog {SONADOW}

Chapter - 13

After a scolding to the gator for taking them the wrong way, Tails had offered to help them on their mission to find Blaze and turn them back into Mobians again. Even going as far as getting the help of his family in the mix. Tails' family, despite his embarrassment, decided to put on a bit of a show along the way with different shapes of the lights and singing. Shadow didn't enjoy the singing but was content with the lights while Sonic found the performance quite fun even with their situation.

Back with Scourge...

The emerald male hedgehog has finished his ritual and manages to call upon his 'Other Friends'. They seem to act more like his bosses from the way they glared at him when he told them about the bad news. Scourge was sweating and quickly looked around in his mind to find a good proposal in exchange for their help once again. He was running out of promises so he came up with one in his desperate act to get their help. "How about if you help me get that froggy prince so I could get Robotnik out of commission for good, you may feast on the wayward souls of New Orleans as much as your dark hearts desire." He said as he used his smoke tricks to show them people turning into agonized souls. The little council of his bosses looked intrigued and agreed to his terms. Scourge smirked at their agreement. He was glad they took it otherwise they would have taken something else.

'I gotta get this done if I wanna pay back my debt in one piece.' he thought as shadows of misshapen and deformed creatures emerged from the cracks and crevices at the call of their masters. Scourge then demanded them to retrieve the prince alive and all his blood intact. With that said, the creatures rushed out of the room and onto the streets of New Orleans in search of the frog Prince.

With the transformed duo...

The froggy duo were walking with the gator behind them as they left the murky waters being in the part of the bayou that requires them to walk instead of swim. Tails said goodbye to his family reassuring them that he would be taking them the rest of the way. Even shouting to another family member telling them to tell a friend that he said hi. Sonic smirked at hearing that interested in the young insect's love life even though he sounds quite young. But Sonic loves to tease his friends so teasing Tails wouldn't be any different.

He may not have a love life himself but he sure as hell wanna hear tea on what his friend has to say.

Tails blushed when he noticed Sonic looking at him with a teasing look. It reminds him of a big brother wanting to annoy his little brother but in a good nature way. That doesn't make it any less embarrassing for the young bug. "Ah, so that's your girl?" Sonic asked as he hopped along. Tails shook his head quickly.

"N-no! I have no interest in her! But Cosmo..." the young male trailed off as his light shone brighter and his face blushed even more. He squealed at the thought of his love while Sonic dropped the teasing grin to a sincere smile. "Yea?" He encouraged his friend. Tails squealed even more as he flew beside Sonic saying, "She's the most beautiful firefly that ever glowed. Someday, we'll be together...yea..." Sonic smiled happily and responded, "That's so sweet Tails."

Shadow scoffed at that which in turn had Sonic groaning. "Don't settle too quickly kid. There are plenty of hoes in the swamp." The onyx male said as Sonic glared at Shadow and smirked saying, "Like you? You're the only hoe I see in this swamp." Tails looked at the two confused. "What's a hoe?" He asked and Sonic quickly shut Shadow's mouth. 'Shit I forgot he's a kid!' he thought. With his voice cracking and wavering, "Nothing! Don't worry about it! Just remember don't listen to him ok!" Tails was reluctant and wanted to know what they meant by hoe but he drops it for now. When the trio went into a bush, Knuckles got pricked by some kind of seed that had sharp edges. He hissed as he got it off of him but it got stuck onto his other finger thanks to him putting too much pressure on the thorned seed. Tails saw this and went to help the frustrated and hissing gator that keeps pulling it off and getting it stuck on him again.

He learned that Knuckles was not a fast learner.

When Sonic and Shadow separated from the two, they were being watched by three Mobians. All in the bird variety. The green hawk looked to be the leader while the violet pink swallow seemed to be competent and the albatross...he's trying. He's really trying. The leader smirked as he spotted the two frogs. "Now those are some nice looking frogs there guys." The large albatross nodded his head in agreement. "It'll go great with Wave's sauce, right Jet!?" The hawk knew what his friend meant but that didn't keep the blush off his dirty minded face. He then harshly whispered while whacking him on the head, "Keep quiet Storm!" After being whacked, Storm's reaction was very slow but soon caught up when he simply said, "Ow." Wave then voiced her opinion on the hunt and how they should catch them. Jet agreed with her plan and they were set in motion.

While this happened, Sonic and Shadow were travelling in silence until Shadow said, "Now I know what the fuck is wrong with you." Sonic glanced behind him but his gaze went back to work on clearing their way. "Have you now? And what did that entail?" The cerulean male asked. Shadow glared at Sonic and simply said, "You don't know how to have fun. You're all work and no play."

"Says the spoiled rotten whore who can't do jack shit besides complain like a child." Sonic retorted. Shadow's eyes blazed and he grabbed Sonic's arm tightly. "Watch it, hedgehog. I'd keep my mouth shut if I were you." He warned. Sonic scowled up at him and stood up tall with them both chest to chest. "Or what? You're all bark and no bite so far. You've done nothing but get us into trouble. You wanna know why your parents cut you off? Because they realized they raised a spoiled, grumpy prince that plays with others emotions and doesn't know how to do anything else but that!" Sonic shouted. Shadow released his grip and stared at Sonic with a glowering stare with his lips pulled back in a snarl. Before he could throw a punch, he was caught in a cage by the green hawk missing Sonic in the process. Sonic was about to try and help Shadow but was nearly caught by the female companion. He quickly hopped away with the female behind him and the other large companion of hers.

Meanwhile Shadow was being manhandled by the lead hunter that looked at him with hungry eyes. Nearby, Tails had finally gotten Knuckles to stand his stubborn ass still for him to get it off completely since it couldn't stick something so small. Both Knuckles and Tails heard the commotion and turned to look on the waters to see Jet holding Shadow in a tight grip talking about how he'll cook him up. Knuckles then saw the guns and ducked into the bushes knowing if the hunter saw him, bullets would be flying. Unfortunately those bushes also had those cursed thorned seeds. A scream followed afterwards.

Tails facepalms at Knuckles' impulsive decision to jump into the things that annoyed him once before. He sighs and flies over to try and save Shadow. But let's just say Tails is gonna be very upset with Shadow for a while.

He flew up the hunter's nose in his beak causing the green male to flail around dropping Shadow in the process into the waters. Jet managed to get the firefly out of his beak when his two companions came back with Sonic in the cage looking battered. He wasn't going to question them since it was already late and he just wanted to go home and eat in peace.

Shadow came out of the water and was relieved that he was set free. But then he noticed the hunters had finally stopped going after him. He looked back to their boat and saw Sonic in the cage. Shadow was about to go and help but stopped himself and wondered, 'Why should I help that blue moron? He insulted me and disrespected me! A Prince in the face!' Shadow was growling about what the blue male had said but then he sighed and thought back again but more calmly. 'But he was also the only one to say the truth to my face without any fear of the consequences of his actions. He actually treated me...like a normal person. Even though it was harsh, it was something I needed to hear and get through my head...' Now he was at a crossroads.

Save the blue male that actually gave him a harsh reality check or let him get eaten and keep trying to deny the truth about himself?
