The Prince and the Frog {SONADOW}

Chapter 2-Years Later [EDITED]

Years later...

The years have past in the city of New Orleans and for our now young hedgehog who is now a young man. Came home swaying as he walked into his room that consisted of colbat blue walls that dulled over the years, his bed much bigger than before, picture frames on his dresser and bedside table. Scattered all over the floor were numerous cookbooks that were either old, new, opened, or closed. He walked over to his dresser and pulled out change from his black apron. He wore a light blue button up shirt with rolled up sleeves, black pants and black shoes. He opened the dresser and dumped the coins in a tin can sighing. "This maybe little but every little bit counts..." He mumbled as he shoved the filled tin can back with the other 15 filled tin cans  in the dresser. He closed the drawer and smiled at the photo frame of his father in a army uniform. "Don't worry Pops, we'll get there soon...you'll see." 

That being said, the cobalt male collapsed onto the blue comforter in a deep slumber. That is until his annoying alarm clock went off. He kicked it against the wall breaking it. He got up and went into his wardrobe closet putting away his night shift clothing. " Good Night Sal's, Good morning Rouge." he sighed heavily as he pulled out the yellow button up shirt that matches the diner's morning colors. After he changed into his clothes, he ran out of the house quickly. 

He jumped onto the trolley and rode to work for his day shift at Rouge's Diner. Meanwhile nearby the diner, was green hedgehog making a deal with another male Mobian who somehow was bald. The green hedgehog breathed in his cigarette and blew the smoke onto the palm of his hand that contained a purple powder. The other Mobian's head was full of luscious hair. And he gave it a test drive to another mobian to charm the female. She smiled but screamed when his fur went out of control. The green hedgehog smirked and chuckled as he flicked his quarter into his vest pocket.

Just across the street, a paper boy was handing out newspapers to other older Mobians. Then a shiny yellow car stopped in front of the boy and Amy's father grabbed the papers and handed the boy a wade of cash causing the boy to jump up and down happily. The green hedgehog saw the whole exchange as his shadow moved on its own free will and took the coin out and dropped it in the male's hand. The hedgehog glared at the coin on his hand and glared back at the human man. The day was different than any other day. You see, not only was the city getting ready for their yearly parade for Mardi Gras, but a royal is visiting the city for his own reasons. He was a black hedgehog with red streaks on his quills. He had a tan muzzle and white chest fur. He wore a red dress shirt and a black vest with black pants. He chest fur stuck out of his red button up shirt. His sleeves were rolled up and he gave the camera a fake smile. On the outside, a handsome prince with a gorgeous smile. But on the inside:

A man with a cold heart.

His reason for his arrival at the city was all of his parents doing. He gave a sigh and jumped off the boat playing his ukulele charming the local female Mobians. They sighed and followed him into town. Just behind him carrying his luggage was a another hedgehog but with silver fur and his quills all over the place. He had dark rings around the eyes but not from exhaustion but because he was born with it. He had amber eyes as he sighed watching the prince run off with females at his feet. He doesn't get paid enough for this shit. He quickly gather the luggage and the abandoned crown and hurries off to catch up to the already running male. 

During the drive with Amy and her father,  Mr. Robotnik, hand the paper to his full grown daughter causing her to squeal after reading the headlines. Their car stopped in front of the diner Sonic works in and the prince walked past the diner as Sonic gathered the dirty dishes from the tables that sat outside of the diner for when customers wanted to eat in the morning sun. Shadow smirked at Sonic with mockery while Sonic rolled his eyes and walked back into the diner as the prince walked away. And just around the corner was the green hedgehog smirking evilly at the prince. "This is gonna be fun~" he whispered as he followed the rich family.

Sonic was running around the diner. Taking orders, receiving, giving orders and taking away dishes. Then he turned to some other young Mobians who called him over. They tried to ask him if he wanted to go to dancing with them to celebrate Mardi Gras but he declined. "Sorry guys I can't! You know I can't dance and- here you go kiddo," he said giving a toddler a napkin to wipe his oatmeal covered face. "I'm starting to work double shift so that- here ya go man!" He gave a plate of flapjacks to an older male and turned back to his friends. "You know so I can-" and was interrupted by the female rabbit with robotic features. "So you can buy yer restaurant I know I know! Sugar! All ya ever do is work!" said the rabbit. Sonic was going to explain more but was interrupted by the owner. "Order up!" He sighed and turned to his friends with a apologetic smile, "Maybe next time guys." As he turned away he heard his friends talking about how they were right that he wouldn't go. He sighed sadly as he walked to the window. 

"Was you talking about that damn restaurant again?" asked the white bat cook as she smirked at Sonic. "Rouge, your eggs are burning," he said bluntly at the cook as she laughed at him. "You'll get nothing but a down payment blue boy~" she teased as Sonic began loading up his tray. "I'm gettin' close!" he exclaimed. Rouge smirked again leaning on the counter and questioned him, "Yea, how close Big Blue?"

Sonic was hesitate for a moment before stuttering,"W-Where are those damn flapjacks!" he cursed as Rouge laughed at him. "Haha! The day you get that restaurant is the day that I win the bet of the Kentucky Derby Blue!" she said as she tossed multiple plates towards the hedgehog landing on his trays and head. He walked away as his boss continues to laugh at him. After that exchange, Mr. Robotnik and Amy walked into the diner as Amy greeted her best friend with some surprising news. "Oh Sonic, Sonic, Sonic! Oh guess what Daddy did!" She exclaimed as she sat down with her father who tried to explain but was rudely interrupted. "Prince Shadow of Maldonia is coming to New Orleans!" She squealed as she looks at the picture of him on the paper with a daze. "Oh isn't he handsome! Tell him what you did Daddy! TELL HIM!!" she screeched to her father. He tried but failed again as his daughter did the explaining. "Daddy invited the Prince to my masquerade party tonight! Tell him what else you did Daddy! Go on!" she said. Robotnik looked to his daughter for a moment. He started but when Amy tried to interject, Robotnik stuffed a beignet that Sonic fixed up for him earlier to congratulate him on becoming the Mardi Gras King. 

For the 5th year in a fucking row.

How'd it happened I don't know why. But Amy had finally shut up and ate the delicious pastry (I had it before in my French Class. It was so fucking good! Try it sometime!) so her father can explain. "The prince will be staying at my estate for the duration of his stay here." And he gave a huff as he finally got a word in with his daughter nodding excitedly. Sonic chuckled and smiled. "That's awesome Ames! You know what my Ma always tells me! 'A quick way to a man's heart, is through his stomach'" he concluded as he set down another plate of beignets in front of Robotnik. The reason he said this was because it included him as well. Many of the Mobians knew him to being bisexual. But he wasn't even thinking about relationships. He had a few attractions but nothing more. Amy had an idea and grabbed the beignet out of her father's hand and ran to her best friend. "Imma need over 500 of your man catching beignets for my ball tonight!" She then ran back over to her father and grabbed handfuls of cash and shoves it into her friend's hands asking if that would cover it. "T-This should cover it Ames. This is it! I'm finally getting my restaurant!" He exclaimed hugging the money to his chest in excitement. Amy squealed and ran out the door dragging her father behind. Rouge saw the whole thing and her mouth dropped as the food she was cooking was burning because of her shocked state. But she wasn't the only one watching as the green hedgehog from earlier smirked because a planned developed in his sinister mind.

This day maybe the best for Sonic so far but not for the prince.
