Chapter 14

Me: *scrolls through Wattpad* Huh...I just realized I haven't updated that story in a while...

*Checks the views and does a spit take*

Me: 7.2K?!

My brain: and they still seem patient with your slow ass.

Me: Shut the fuck up! You're in this too ya know!

My brain: I maybe in this, but I'm not the one typing.

Me: technically you ar-

My brain: just get to work ya whore.

Me: ....how the hell am i-

My brain: *SMACK* WORK NOW!

Me: Fine! *mutters under my breath like a child*

I'm so surprised that this story has built up quite the views. When I look back at it, the writing gets more cringe as time goes on but at least it's still readable? I don't know. While I had played Sonic Colors Ultimate so I can get more of my love for the fandom up...the fucking game caused me nothing but absolute pain. So I gave up even though I was only on Sweet Mountain. Then I went to see the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie in theaters and right now, the movies is keeping me going at this point and it's just...sad.

So you maybe wondering, "Why haven't you been writing or updating if that's the case?" I have an answer to this of course. Simply because I am also writing the other Sonadow story on the side that is Mulan inspired. I'm also working on its cover as well. But I've also noticed that my MHA story isn't really being read....I can tell since the only time the number goes up is when I'm reading it. So, I'll take that story down. I still love the concept but I think I will switch to another fandom. Which will be a third/fourth Sonadow story.

Yes at this point, it's 4 now. This one and the Mulan one. The third will be a Beauty and the Beast inspired and this other concept now. Each story will have some chapters ready but the covers won't be.

Also to note that I'll be going back to classes soon. I have been putting off my degree for a while because of home issues, and many personal things that still bugs me to this day but not as violently as it had been before. Sorry if this is a disturbingly long author's note. I just wanted to update you guys. Thanks for being so patient with me and now let's get back into the story!

The Babylon trio moved on with their only catch. It was quite saddening really but beggars can't be choosers as the saying goes. Suddenly, they all felt a thud on their boat and stopped for a moment. Everything was silent. Nothing but the sound of crickets and the movement of the water as they wait for something, anything to present itself. When Wave and Storm looked back to Jet to confirm they haven't seen anything, they froze as they saw the larger darker frog perched on top of Jet's head. The smaller blue frog looked up wondering why the hunters were just frozen and staring at their leader. 'What just happened?'

His answers were given once he looked up on top of the head honcho. He let out a whisper of a gasp. He was stunned. He never would have thought the grumpy prince would actually be here. 'I thought he would have just left me...What reason does he have for being here?' Sonic thought as he gazed up at his companion. The two locked eyes as Shadow gave a sign to simply tell Sonic to stay quiet. The two birds slowly crept up to their leader and the green hawk turned his head back at them. "What are you staring at?" He demanded but was swiftly hit on the head from the bat that Storm carried, missing the dark frog in the process. Storm switched weapons and tried a net but that didn't work and he went back to his preferred method. While all this was happening, Shadow continued to dodge and even yawned in genuine boredom at their failed attempts. Sonic giggled at the display before. Normally, this is the kind of thing that he'd do in Shadow's position just to annoy them.

But seeing Shadow do this brought a smile to his face.

The onyx male landed on Jet's face and was quickly pointed at from Wave, a shotgun. Both Jet and Shadow started to panic. When Jet redirected the gun, Shadow leapt off of him and went to release Sonic as the gun went off. Fortunately for Jet, the bullet missed.

Sonic climbed out of the cage that Shadow unlocked for him. Sonic smiled and nodded his thanks. The duo is now faced with the trio who were almost calm and collected after that short fiasco. But that didn't bother the males. In fact, they started to really tease the trio. In short, by the end of the Babylons we're all tuckered out and bruised from missing the frogs and for practically harming each other just to somehow catch the slippery creatures. Sonic and Shadow landed in front of them as the trio panted.

Jet sighed as he spoke in a hoarse pitched voice,"They aren't any ordinary frogs...they're smart." The other two nodded in agreement. Wave then even pointed out the odd coloring. Before they made any more comments about it, Sonic and Shadow appeared before them and the blue frog smirked. "And we talk too!" he exclaimed in a delighted tone. It was quiet for a second before the trio bolted up and rowed their boat away in attempts to leave the frogs behind.

While this happened, Knuckles had already fished Tails out of the water and used a hollowed reed to help revive him by CPR. The young lightning bug coughed up the water and sat up looking at the reddish hued gator. Knuckles sighed in relief as he asked, "You ok Kiddo?" Tails nodded as his coughs became lighter and lighter as he was able to catch his breath again. "I'm fine now. Though your breath nearly finished the job..." the young bug said and quietly muttered the last part to himself. Knuckles nodded and sat up straight. Without a word, he pointed to his stomach at the spot where the spiny seed was stuck and Tails took the hint to grab the barbed seed and pulled it off. Knuckles grunted and expressed his gratitude. "Thanks a lot peep squeak. Now how about the....other side?" He asked. Tails nods but deeply regrets it when the large reptile turns around revealing that the whole gator's rear end is covered in those barbed seeds.

Tails groans as he drops the seed that he took off a second ago. This is gonna delay them for sure.

The frog duo were on their way back to the others. But the difference was that Sonic was having light chuckles and Shadow was giving Sonic a small smile during their conversation. "I guess you do know what fun is." The dark prince says smoothly as Sonic smiles back. "And I didn't know you could be playful Shads~" he teased back. Shadow's cheeks tinted a darker color as he growled at Sonic. But the blue male didn't mind since now he saw Shadow and how he acted back there, to him the dark male is more bark than bite really. Though he slowly lost his smile and it turned into a slight frown.

"Though, there is something that I'm confused about." Sonic spoke carefully. Shadow looked to his right back at the blue male in question and stopped in his tracks as he saw the puzzled look on his face. Sonic turns to Shadow with a concentrated look but it has a hint of curiosity behind his eyes. "Shadow, why did you save me?" He finally asked.
