"Care to explain to me why we're going to Oregon again?" she hissed, shifting uncomfortably in the narrow economy seat as Parker ransacked his for eye masks.
"The Vulture's daughter, Liz-," she watched as his throat swallowed drily.
Ah,  so there had been something there.
"When I exposed her dad, she had to move to Oregon to her mother's side of the family. Her father loved her more than anything in his life, he had gotten into the whole alien tech business so he could provide for her. So, I'm sure that, with whatever little resources he had left, he would be able to get someone to look after her. We trail Liz-," he finally managed to extract the eye mask, slipping it over his head.
"- and hopefully we find whatever is left of Vulture's gang of thugs." he sighed contentedly, leaning his head against the hard surface of the plane's body, ready to fall asleep for the five-hour long flight.
"Right." she mumbled, although the plan was far-fetched in her opinion. "Why couldn't we take the jet?" she grumbled, used to the spaciousness of the Quinnjet, unnerved by both of their proximity.
"A-," Peter held up a finger without even removing the mask. "- a bomb blew up inside of it remember? B-," he held up another finger. "- if I'm seen landing in Oregon in my very own private jet that doesn't exactly help with my keeping my cover. And C-," there went the third finger. "- I don't know how to fly a jet and no one else was free," he muttered sheepishly just as the head air stewardess's voice echoed from the intercom.
"This is flight A386 from New York to Oregon. Please fasten your seatbelts and turn off your phones or put them in airplane mood as we are about to take off. "
"Hey Parker-," she turned to him as soon as the announcement was over but was cut short when she realized that in the span of a minute and a half, he had managed to fall asleep. Or was feigning it incredibly well.
Never mind then she thought to herself as she attempted to plug in the standard pair of earphones, swiping through the list of movies that they had to offer.
Heart of Iron: The Tony Stark Story
Glancing at Parker who was about as still as a log, she shrugged to herself.
What the hell, it can't hurt.
                              --
"Are you okay?" he asked as they landed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Fine," she muttered curtly, returning from the bathroom, grateful for the fact that she had been in the aisle seat.
                              "What did you watch?"
"Uh, nothing, just a couple of episodes of some sitcom. It was okay," she mumbled as the rest of the passengers began to move sluggishly out of their seats, the plane having landed fifteen minutes ago.
"O-ooo kay," he squinted, analysing her face as she rolled her eyes, taking their luggage down.
"Come on let me help," he offered, squeezing past the narrow seats, standing right next to her, their hips just touching.
Side-stepping immediately, as if she had been electrocuted she yanked her luggage down, nearly causing a tumble of bags, which Parker steadied with both hands.
"Could have just said no." he remarked, bringing down his duffle bag and suitcase in which contained the Stark Spider-Man suit.
                              --
"I thought you told everyone you can't drive," she asked, tossing her bag in the backseat as he placed his hands on the steering wheel.
"I said I don't have my license but I got my learner's permit after coming back from the Blip." he flashed her the plastic card as she stifled a laugh at the picture.
