KABANATA 32: Ang Dalawang Yakap

Zea's POV

I don't know what is this. My body feels so relaxed yet my system is slapping my parts to wake up.

Malamig, masyadong malamig...

Sa gitna ng diko maipaliwanag na pakiramdam, unti unti kong inimulat ang mga mata. I explore the surroundings with my sight. I'm in a gigantic elegant room. From high and scintillating chandelier above me, to the red printed walls. But.. I can't move.

I tried to move my fingers first but I can't feel them, I tried my feet but it's like they were cemented. So I closed my eyes again and urge my body to fight. As my eyes were blocked, I heard the door opened and footsteps walking in. They're men and laughing with their deep voice.

"Tulog parin ang ulam" the first man spoke.

"Hanggang mamaya tulog yan syempre, sinigurado nayan" the second one added.

Ulam?

I heard them walked closer to me.

"Ang ganda talaga nya" the first man stated. Unti unting nagigising ang sistema ko lalo na ng maramdaman ko ang pagdampi ng palad nya sa binti ko.

Mga bastos!

"Mana sa Lola, may asim pa nga yun eh, sayang nasa tyan ko na" the second one burst in laughter as he finished his sentence.

Wait.. what did he just say? I felt his breath on my neck.

"Di kita nahuli noon, ngunit ngayon sigurado akong pareho na kayo ng magiging kapalaran ng mga mahal mo sa buhay..." then his lips touched my ears "Patay"

Once I heard the door closed, my body woke up. My eyes opened as they flashed golden light. With clenched jaw and fists, I stand up and aimed for the exit. With no hesitation I stepped out from the room I don't even know why I was in. The only thing that's in my head is to catch that man, that murderer. But I can't help to feel dizzy in this place I'm in.

Where in the world is this?

I glanced at myself and saw what I'm wearing. I'm in a plain white silk dress, up to the top of my foot, puffed longsleeves and I got no slippers.

Where's my clothes?

What am I doing here? Why can't I remember anything?

As these questions were processing in my mind, I heard footsteps again, but this time it's louder, coming from a lot of people. I'm in a long covered hallway so I doubled my speed and ran as much as I can to reach a corner in able to hide.

At last I found a place and pressed my back on the wall as I swallow my breath. I turned my head to the edge of the corner and slowly positioned myself to peek. I saw multiple ladies in uniform, about six. Identical neat bun hairstyle, wearing black buttoned blazer and fitted skirt that reaches their knees match with red stillettos. They entered that room, luckily I wasn't there anymore. But seconds later, they hurriedly went out making me hide again. I was in a distance but I managed to hear them, maybe because they're many. They were chatting just outside.

"Nasaan na yung babaeng yun?"

"Sabi nila Eduardo nandito lang daw kanina"

"Papaano namang makakatakas yun eh ang dami na natin pinagtutusok at pinainom sakanya para hindi sya magising hanggang magseremonyas?!"

"Nakalimutan nyo nabang isa syang maharlika? Naku papaano natin to sasabihin kay Master Draco?"

"Wala silang malalaman! Tara hanapin na natin sya, humingi din kayo ng tulong sa iba"

Narinig ko na uli silang maglakad, senyales na umalis na sila. Kahit papaano ay nabawasan ang pag aalala ko. Ngunit paniguradong hahanapin nila ako kaya naman kailangan kona talagang makaalis dito, kung saan man ito. Inilibot ko muna ng ilang segundo ang paningin ko at pinag aralan kung saan ako dadaan. Salikod ko ay isang malaking bintana, the one they have in castles. Napansin ko na malalim na ang gabi. Pareho lang ang itsura ng kinalulugaran ko at ng sa tapat nito, both corners and spaces for windows. While in the middle, is the continuation of the hallway and there weren't any lights. Lumipat ako sa kaharapan ko ng pader at patalikod na sumilip. It's another space for rooms but I see an end cause there's light there, I think that's the stairs!
