"Whatever you see or hear, never believe in it. Understood?" With trembling hands and fearful eyes, he grasps harder onto the child's vulnerable shoulders.
Added that they were locked up inside a not so spacious, dark, four cornered wall that could hold enough a small family but not right now, as to it felt like a small cell and they were as if prisoners of their own home.
Both terrified and doubled the anxiety as the dark shadows compensate the atmosphere as the furnitures around them were the only thing that illuminates, reflecting from the lamppost outside.
The fearsome look the child sees mirrored to the man's sight. Glistening in dread. Hearts were soon to explode and break free from their ribcage as the fright intensifies to its extent. Oh, it was limitless. It creeps to the core.
"I said, Do. You. Understand?" Now, a much more anxiety lingers from the man's grip. He shakes in fear and knees tremble as the horror creeps on his skin.
Before the 11-year-old child could gasp to open its mouth, a loud, very loud thud comes in surprise. And it's coming from behind them.
The front door.
Countless breaths and the thud grew louder and louder. That with every thump comes a gigantic mammoth stomping its feet in your chest. It's like being chased in Nightmare on Elm Street.
You run for your life.
"We're running out of time! Run now and hide!"
The child was given no chance to speak for itself when fright was the only thing it consumed. Eyes screaming worries and begging to ask questions and doubts. Wanting everything to shout.
"Whatever happens, never, ever come out." The man's words left a glint of horror through his eyes.
The tension rises as the sound waves intensifies. Heart rates beat twice as much as a speaker's bass pounding from the music everytime the beat drops.
Bullets of sweat squeezes out of each of the man's pores. With every drop comes a heavy and shaky breath. For each nerve breaksdown and was close to bursting like popping a balloon anytime soon.
"Don't make this any harder for us, Evans." Like any other uncanny counter from a villain, a deep-toned voice came from the opposite side. Sending thousands of smell of danger.
"F- father..."
Bang!
"Open up or we're doing this the hard way!"
Loud and aggresive knocks kept pounding from the other side. As wild as a boar trying to destroy the barrier that's getting in its way to attack its prey. The man quickly shot his dreadful eyes back to the child and suck in a lot of courage before he could shout.
"Go, now!"
Bang!
The last thump was the cue for the child to take. The child flew and find its way to hide, like what it was told.
Halfway through and a sharp ringing pierced through their ears by a blast of a gunshot that broke the door's knob. It rings that made them to crouch down and cup their ears with their hands. The wooden door's walls come shreading down and its materials shatter bit by bit winging all over the area.
The next came two unarmed men dressed in black carrying nothing but a hint of emotionless, soulless expression on their faces. The tapping of their shoe heels were the only thing that surpasses the noise from the former man's berserk beating heart on his chest with every step the men approach.
