"Katie?" Someone called. I turned around and saw Ashton and Brandon running towards me, I have no way to escape. I'm sat by the pond. "Finally. We've been looking for you for hours," Ashton stated.
"Where have you been?" Brandon added, "Ash said what happened." I ignored them. I don't feel up to chit chatting. They're probably here to take me home.
"We looked at Emily and Stephanie's to see if you went there but they said they hadn't seen you. Also, Mrs Fisher said to say she's sorry for her outburst." Ashton said as he sat down next to me.
"It's fine. She's in pain. She's angry and upset and confused. I don't blame her for lashing out."
"Your parents are worried about you Katie and want you to come home," Ashton said which annoyed me.
"I'm not going home." I can't bear to look at my dad. Seeing him makes me too angry. I know it's not his fault that this is all happening but he's not doing enough to stop it. These are people's lives at stake. He's more worried about following procedure than actually rescuing people. He says there's rules they must follow. It's a load of bull. "I know you're angry but they're worried," Ashton stated.
"I'm not going home!" I shouted.
"If you don't want to go home then we won't force you but you do need to go somewhere it's supposed to rain tonight," Brandon said.
"Then where can we go? We can't go to yours as your dad will take me home," I replied.
"I know somewhere." Brandon said.
We just got to Brandon's house. He won't tell us where we're going but he's brought us to his house first to grab some dinner. He has to sneak in so that his dad won't see him because his dad will know Brandon knows where I am.
It took half an hour to get to the mystery location. We reached the location and it's the last place I expected. We reached an abounded shed that's located at the bottom of the mountain. "What is this place?" Ashton asked.
"It's where me, Brandon, Emily and Stephanie used to come here as kids. This was our playhouse." I answered. It's a small shack that's practically falling apart but I've got so many happy memories here. We used to come every weekend. We stopped coming a few years ago as I started hunting, Emily and Stephanie started working for their parents and Brandon started interning for his dad. I started a fire whilst Ashton set up the blankets. Brandon heated up some soup. "I remember once when Brandon's dad tried to teach him about laws when he was thirteen so he hid here for two whole days," I laughed.
"You hate laws that much?" Ashton asked.
"I don't care for politics. I don't want to be a leader like my dad expects me to be. Plus, you think that's bad, I remember when Katie hid all of her families' weapons when she was eleven as she decided she wanted to be a dancer not a warrior." Brandon said embarrassing me as he handed some soup.
"Really? Katie wanted to be a dancer? Our Katie? This Katie right here?" Ashton asked in disbelief.
"It was a phase that lasted a month, I thought I was going to become a great ballerina."
"I can't believe it." Ash stated. We sat there laughing about the old times. I started to shiver. It's blooming freezing. Brandon grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around us. He put his arm around me and held me close to try to keep me warm. I put my head on his shoulder and slowly drifted off to sleep.
