I woke up and I definitely did not want to be awake. I was having a really good dream. I was able to fly and it felt so freeing being able to fly. I was flying all over the ocean. It felt free flying next to dolphins watching as they dove in and out of the water. But no, I've got to be awake and be awoken to a freezing cold, rainy day. Even with three blankets wrapped around me, I'm freezing. I got up and stood in the doorway of the shed not wanting to go out and get wet. "Look who's finally awake," Ashton said as he finally noticed me. Ashton and Brandon are stood outside doing their best to pack things up as quick as possible but instead are slipping about due to how muddy the ground is. "You gonna help?" Ashton asked.

"And miss watching you two look like horses on ice? You're alright thanks," I laughed.

"Rude. Frankly we weren't sure if you were ever gonna wake up, it's already 1pm" Brandon said.

"Really?" I asked, confused. I never usually wake up this late, I'm always up by half past ten.

"You ready to go home? From the looks of it a storm's coming. We don't have to if you don't want to. We can figure something out," Ashton asked.

"I think I should go home." I don't really want to go but I know I need to. Mum and dad are going to be worrying. I've ran off before but only for like an hour or two never for a whole night. I need to at least let them know I'm okay, I can always stay at Brandon's. I helped the boys pack up and we started to head home.

We're walking home and not that far now. We spent the entire time making fun of Brandon for the fact he makes weird noises in his sleep. "You sound like a baby trying to talk," I laughed.

"I do not." Brandon whined.

"Yes, you do." I suddenly saw something, "what's going on?" I noticed a crowd on my street and the closer I got the more I realised that the crowd is forming around my house. I didn't even have to tell the others, we all started running as fast as we could. I kicked and punched my way through the crowd and when I reached the front, I found a nightmare. My house is bordered off and there's guards everywhere keeping people back. What's going on? Clearly something bad has happened there's only one thing that could've happened. "Dad?" Brandon shouted as he spotted his dad coming out the house.

"Brandon take Katie and Ashton home please. I'll talk to you later," Philip said as he approached us.

Brandon tried to pull my arm to take me to his house but I pushed him off and shouted, "what happened?"

"Katie..."

"No! Tell me."

"Your dad and your mum were both taken. I'm so sorry." Philip revealed. Both of my parents have been taken? The kidnappers have only been taking men, why take my mum? Maybe she got in the way or fought back so they took her. I sprinted towards my house. "Katie!" Philip shouted as he tried to grab me. The front door is broke. I went into my house and it's been ransacked. The table has been flipped over, there's glass everywhere, books are thrown about. It's a mess. You can tell there was a struggle in here. My parents are gone. They took them. This can't be happening. Why? Why have they taken them? I screamed in anger. I grabbed a chair and started smashing things up. I'm so angry. I'm crying my eyes out. I'm screaming in anger and depression. I took all my frustration out on my surroundings. "Katie?" Ashton and Brandon came running in. In the corner of my eye, I noticed Ashton pick something up and quickly shove it in his pocket. I don't care. All I want to do is scream and cry. I dropped to the floor and broke down. I could feel my heart shatter. Ashton caught me and held me close. I hid in his chest and cried my eyes out. "I'm so Sorry Katie." Ashton stated as he stroked my hair. "We will find them. I promise."

"They're gone. They're really gone."
