It's been almost eleven years since a freak storm that caused the forest to increase vegetation and spread into the city. The city became completely covered with plants. The animals also became rabid and started attacking people. Scientists did everything they could to find a cure but it was too late. The war between humans and animals had started the animals were winning. Most of population were now dead. The government and police had gone silent. The remaining people quickly evacuated and escaped the cities and headed to the forests. People tried living in peace but everyone wanted different things and to have different people in charge. Due to no one being able to agree on anything, another war broke out that is now known as the Tribal War. Groups of people joined forces with the one they wanted to be leader. Six months of nothing but fighting and bloodshed. More were being slaughtered and for what? The war finally ended. Groups of people went off with the one they wanted to be leader and formed their own tribe. My family fought for a close friend called Philip Jones, a forty-eight-year-old man who was a state senator. Him and my father grew up together. He has a son called Brandon, who I grew up with, he has brown hair and is the same age as me. Philip decided to name the tribe the Mountain Tribe and this is because he based us in a cave in the mountains. I live with my mum and dad in a small, banal, wooden hut. Most of the homes look the same. We have a few market stalls made from tents and a large town hall made from stone. I was only six when everything happened so I don't remember much but we all get taught the stories in school.
Two years ago, I met a black haired, blue eyed boy called Ashton Cox who's a year older than me and is a lot taller than me, I'm the smallest in my group seeing as I'm only 5ft2 Ashton and his mum where on their way here, from a tribe called Water Tribe, when their boat collided with my dad's whilst he was out fishing. Unfortunately, his mum got trapped in the lower deck and drowned. As Ashton was swimming for shore, he saw my dad floating away, unconscious on a plank of wood and saved him. To say thank you for rescuing my dad, my family decided to take him in. Ashton's father died long before they came here but that's all I know; he doesn't like talking about him.
Everything was going good until one morning that changed everything and everyone.
