Chapter 11

Ten found it fortunate that he didn't have a load of jitters for opening night, he was rather brimming with anticipation to put forth an amazing performance for the audience tonight. After their hard work, blood, sweat, tears and the endless obstacles they faced, opening night was finally here, the final stretch of their journey.

He also thanked the lucky stars that they were even able to have a show, Miss Jenn's brilliant idea was to hold the show in the gymnasium, which was way better after spending a day in a creepy theatre.

"We've got mystery flowers, people!" Carlos voiced excitedly as he set down a huge basket of flowers.

"Wow, those are massive." EJ looked at the flowers in astonishment.

"Why mystery?" Big Red asked.

"There was no card, so I'm guessing it's the dealer's choice," Carlos replied. "But if I had to bet, I'd say it's for our leading lady."

Nini smiled in appreciation. "Aw!"

"Not from me, sorry," Ricky said to Nini.

"It's okay."

"Jeonghan is coming over tonight, right? I don't want him to miss this," EJ asked Ten who looked at his reflection in the mirror, ensuring his appearance was at its finest.

"Of course, Eric wouldn't miss this for the world," Ten reassured and he patted EJ's shoulder as Kourtney touched up on EJ's makeup. "I gave three tickets since he's bringing Joshua and Vernon."

"Good." EJ smiled, returning to his phone as everyone else bustled around the room.

"Head up, Mr Caswell. You know Miss Jenn says this is a phone-free zone," Kourtney ordered as she moved the brush over his face.

"I know, but this is important," EJ said, still glued to his phone.

"Always is." Kourtney rolled her eyes at EJ's reply.

"Half hour!" Natalie shouted for the drama students to prepare themselves.

"Okay, last touches, anyone? Speak now, or forever hold your face!" Kourtney called after she was done with EJ.

"Why? Where are you going to be during the show?" Seb turned in his seat to ask.

"My beautiful babies, let's all gather round for some housekeeping!" Miss Jenn announced as she walked into the room. "First of all, who brought Versailles?"

"No one knows."

"Well, I suppose we'll just have to share, then. Oh, and speaking of sharing, most of you know that our dazzling Taylor had to leave under family circumstances," Miss Jenn announced, a wave of brief sadness washed over them when they were reminded of their cast member's absence. "Gina sends her love and support to all of you, but unfortunately she's on the East Coast and won't be able to make it for tonight's performance. And so, I have asked Kourtney to fill in her stead."

The students whooped and cheered for Kourtney for being Taylor for the night.

"So now, what I would like to do is, please think of a word or a phrase from the show that expresses where your head is, or your goals for tonight," Miss Jenn said. "If anyone wants to share?"

"You're my guys and this is our team," Big Red started with a goofy smile on his face.

"What if you wanna try something really new, and it's a total disaster and all your friends laugh at you?" Ricky said.

"Oh, um. Do you ever feel like there's this whole other person inside of you just looking for a way to come out?" Nini smiled.

"Do the romp, strut your stuff!" Carlos said excitedly.
