"Geez, EJ," Ten said with a sigh. It was tiring to watch his best friend fiddle with his electronic device for the past few minutes. "Don't make me call Vernon over just to help you out with your laptop."
"I'm fine." EJ looked at his laptop screen with an intense stare until it actually lit up. "See? It's working perfectly fine!"
Accompanying the Caswell cousins to look after Ashlyn's house was not something Ten planned to do for spring break. In fact, he wanted to go to the dance studio to practice and see Jeonghan. However, those plans were thrown out the window when EJ came knocking at Ten's front door, and the next thing he knew, he was whisked away to Ashlyn's residence.
"That's only after you and Ashlyn bickered for almost half an hour," Ten added from his seat on the couch.
"Well, sorry," EJ mumbled.
"I told you that it hadn't been charged," Ashlyn said, giving Ten a smirk.
Ten nodded, using this opportunity to tease EJ. "I think the moral of the story is to listen to Ashlyn."
"I get it," EJ groaned, sinking himself into the couch. "You two don't like me."
"Took you this long to find out?" Ten teased, shielding himself with a nearby cushion when EJ seemingly wanted to whack his shoulder.
"Hey, um, Miss Jenn just started the meeting," Ashlyn informed and the three of them positioned themselves at their laptops respectively.
"What's up?" EJ greeted, moving to make himself appear on Ashlyn's camera as she laughed while he made a silly expression. Ten on the other hand, rolled his eyes before smiling and waved at his laptop screen.
"Sorry. Uh, our parents all went to Park City together and left us to watch the house," Ashlyn explained, giving a wide grin. "We've been streaming old movies."
"What about you, Ten?" Miss Jenn asked.
"As my best friend and neighbour, EJ dragged me here," Ten replied. "It is surprisingly not that bad."
EJ rolled his eyes before continuing. "Watched Scary Movie last night. It's such a classic."
"Never heard of it?" Seb commented, tilting his head with curiosity.
"You guys are like watching, old, old, movies," Nini said.
EJ nudged Ten's side, making the latter glare with fierce intensity. "Someone here said that it would be more fun to watch with friends."
"Obviously," Ten quipped, adjusting his position before leaning back. He would just make fun of EJ as payback. "You are the one who screamed back in the barn. And don't forget that incident from the creepy theatre..."
"Stop embarrassing me."
"No, it's my job to do so."
"Well, I wanted to tell you guys..." Miss Jenn wanted to start the meeting.
"Sorry we're late," Kourtney interrupted as she entered the meeting. "Emergency in the kitchen."
"Yeah. Okay, everyone focus. Now that we're all here," Miss Jenn began. "Wait, no, where's..."
"Hey, everyone. I'm here, I'm here," Gina suddenly joined, the expression on her face indicated that things were a bit out of hand. "Sorry, um. I couldn't find an outlet and my flight's delayed. Actually, my plane has a mechanical issue, so... fun."
"Oh, dear! Are you safe?"
"I spent my childhood in airports. I am no damsel in distress."
"Okay. Looks like we're only missing Ricky," Miss Jenn said, looking for a certain girl's appearance. "Nini, have you heard from him?"
