"Hi. Thank you all for coming for rehearsal in the morning," Miss Jenn began as the drama students had gathered around to stand in a circle. It was a brand new day for rehearsal, a lovely time to start fresh, to improve where they lacked. However, the rebellious act they participated in loomed over their heads. "I know it's a crazy day with the career fair and all, but given all your behaviour last week, I believe we're lucky to even have rehearsal at all."
"Yeah, I wonder whose idea was that," Ten said to EJ, who the latter rubbed his shoulder gently. When the two had returned home from that disaster, as Ten put it, he lectured EJ the entire journey home. To maintain the peace of their minds and friendship, the Caswell offered to treat ice cream.
Although Ten accepted it, he still sent glares at EJ as he ate his cold dessert. EJ had laughed weakly, it was still a good attempt to sweeten Ten's mood.
"For future reference, singing and dancing, good," Miss Jenn continued. "Breaking and entering, bad."
"Miss Jenn, we didn't break anything," Seb said, hoping to clear up any misunderstandings the drama teacher had.
"Would you like me to be the first?"
"I'm good," Seb answered quietly, to which Ten comfortingly patted the blonde boy's shoulder.
"Okay. I'm just going to say it," Carlos started, before turning to the drama teacher in a confused manner. "Zack Roy stole our Beast mask. Why are you not freaking out?" he asked the drama teacher.
"Because winners don't freak out, Carlos," she replied, a tone of confidence as she spoke, "they rise. When they go low, we sing high." She then suddenly sang in a very high note, shocking the students as most of them flinched.
Yup, several months and they were still jumpy around their drama teacher's surprising actions.
"Okay. Let's rehearse," Miss Jenn said to get rehearsal started on a strong note. "EJ, remember where you are emotionally. Belle has just rebuked your marriage proposal and LeFou is rallying the guys to boost you back up. Let's hit it."
"A sad guy who's sad over his rejection by the girl who is played by his cousin," Ten muttered to himself. "That is definitely fine."
"Okay, so don't forget to start on your left foot at the top of the chorus," Gina reminded EJ when she turned to him whilst everyone else got ready in their positions for the scene.
"Thank you. Anything else?"
"Yes. Just make sure you're being real manly out there," Ten teased as he poked EJ's side. "Please don't whack me with any of the props, whether it's the eggs or the mugs."
"It was one time," EJ groaned, not wanting to be reminded of practice in his living room where he nearly swung a mug in Ten's face. His best friend had lectured him and refused to practise until he deemed EJ's prop coordination as safe to work with.
"Don't fall over," Gina added.
"You dancers have all the best tips."
"That's because we are the best." Ten smiled, Gina gave a playful grin back at him.
As soon as the music began, Big Red opened it with such amazing character and personality. Ten really enjoyed himself with the choreography, sliding across the floor with moving the furniture and props around.
Everyone watching cheered loudly as the number they performed was indeed, spectacular. They all got up with applause when they had finished. Ten let out a breath of relief, he was glad that it went smoothly, certainly one of the best things he had pulled off recently.
"Dancers, glorious. Big Red, hilarious," Miss Jenn remarked, full of pride and satisfaction. "And EJ, victorious." The rehearsal room emerged with shouts of joy and support.
