The next few days were so dreary for the Avengers closest to Tony. Diana cried then first couple days, and then she sought comfort in Pepper.

They would talk about their moments with Tony, even though he wasn't the greatest man in the world, he was the most compassionate when it came to others.

The day of his funeral Diana laid on her bed with tears streaming down her cheeks. She sniffled as she wrapped a blanket around her body.

"You aren't going to go to the funeral?"

She looked over towards the door and saw Loki standing there, dressed all in black with a somber look on his face.

"I can't, Pepper already had him creaminated and that was hard enough for me."

"He's going to be put to rest today, and I think he would want you there, Diana."

Diana began to cry as Loki sat next to her on the bed and rubbed her back. He sat there a few minutes, not saying anything but only comforting her.

Diana finally sat up as she wiped her tears away. She nodded her head at Loki as she gave him a small smile.

They rode together to the funeral where everyone was already waiting. When Pepper saw Diana she walked over to her holding Tony's arc reactor, and over it imprinted it said,'Proof that Tony Stark had a Heart.'

"His ashes are inside?" Diana asked as she looked at Pepper.

"Yes, we are going to let him go in the creek behind us. I thought you would like to place him there," Pepper said behind glossy eyes. Diana could see her cheeks were red and so was her nose. Even though Diana was married to the man for 3 years, Pepper had been in his life much longer than anyone here.

"Pepper I think it should be you," Diana gripped Peppers hand as she smiled at her. Pepper gave her a wobbly smile as she nodded her head.

Loki wrapped his arm around Diana's waist as they walked outside. Steve, Bucky, Sam, and Wanda stood closest to the wooden dock. T'Challa was there as well with Shuri and Okoye, a beautiful woman with age stood next to him as she held his hand in support. Scott stood next to Hope with her parents by her side.

Loki nodded his head at Clint who stood in the back with his family. Diana saw from the corner of her Nicky Fury standing in the back with Carol Danvers.  The guardians stood next to Steve as Peter Quill argued with the blue one for not wearing a shirt.

Diana saw Peter Parker standing alone with tears silently rolling down his face, she walked up to him and wrapped her hand around his. She gave him a supportive smile, Peter's lip began to quiver as he shook his head.

Loki slipped his arm away from Diana as she embraced Peter in a hug. She knew Peter and Tony had been close, he was the one who recruited Peter, Tony was his mentor and father like figure after his uncle passed away.

Pepper walked down the center of everyone as she stepped onto the dock, she leaned down as she let Tony's heart float down the creek.

The time had finally come where they needed to return the stones to their proper time line. Bruce asked Diana if she would be able to help them with the time travel and she agreed.

She had to talk Loki into staying at her apartment, she knew he was still jealous of Steve.

Once Diana arrived at the location she saw Bruce behind the monitors, Bucky , Sam, and Steve were talking. Once Steve saw Diana he walked over towards her.

"I didn't have the opportunity to talk to you since we lost Tony. How are you holding up?" Steve looked at her with concern behind his blue eyes.

"I am doing okay, Loki has been there for me. Comforting me through my grief. But I honestly believe Tony is in a better place where all heroes go."

Steve shook his head as he smiled at Diana.

"I still will never understand what you see in Loki that you couldn't find in me."

Diana licked her lips as she gave him a weak smile.

"It's not something I wanted to happen. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt you Steve. But there was something about Loki that I fell in love with."

"I'm not mad at you for loving him. I know what it's like to love someone unconditionally."

"Peggy?"

"Yeah," Steve smiled at her.

"Are you ready Steve?" Bruce called out to them, Steve only nodded his head. He looked back at Diana, Diana smiled at him and gave him a hug.

"Be safe," she said quietly.

"I will." Steve then turned around and walked on the platform.

"All right Steve. After I send you back, I will bring you home in 5 seconds. In 3....2.....1."

Bruce hit the button and it transported Steve back in time. They all stood their in anticipation as Banner began to count down from 5.

"In 5...4...3....2....1..." He hit the button but nothing happened.

"Where is he?" Sam asked loudly as he walked over to Bruce.

"I don't know."

"Bring him back now!"

"Hey! I'm trying here!"

"You two yelling at each other won't bring him back," Diana said as she rolled her eyes.

"Diana," Bucky said softly, she turned to see Bucky facing the pond, and right where the bench was, sat an old man.

Bucky and Diana walked over towards him, once they did they saw him holding Captains sheild.

"Steve?" Diana said in a whisper.

The old man turned and smiled at her as he nodded his head. Diana sat down next to him and hugged him.

"What did you do Steve?" Sam asked him.

"I thought I'd get some of that happiness Diana was talking about."

"But who is going to do your job?" Sam asked in return.

Steve smiled as he slowly handed the shield over to Sam. Sam looked at him in amazement.

"You are Sam."

"Are you sure?" Sam said quietly, Bucky smiled at Steve as he patted Sam on the back.

"Yes, I think the world is ready for a new Captain America."
